Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification:

• B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing from a university/institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council; OR
• B.Sc. Nursing (Regular Course) from a recognized university/institution; OR
• Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university/institution; OR
• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery/Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized university/institution.

Registration Requirement: A valid/renewed permanent registration certificate from the Uttarakhand Nursing and Midwives Council is mandatory by the last date of application. NUI-D card or receipt of registration application is NOT accepted. Candidates who pass the written exam but do not hold a valid registration certificate by the last date of application will be declared ineligible.

Desirable Qualification:

• At least 2 years of service in the Provincial Armed Constabulary; OR
• 'B' or 'C' certificate from National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Working Knowledge of Hindi is also required.

Selection Process

The selection is based on a single-stage written objective examination of 200 marks (3 hours duration). There are two papers:

• Paper I (100 Marks): Nursing subject - based on Diploma or Degree level qualification
• Paper II (100 Marks): General Hindi (20 marks), General Knowledge (40 marks), and General Studies (40 marks)

Negative marking of 1/4 (0.25) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Questions will be in both Hindi and English. The answer sheet (OMR Sheet) is in triplicate; the third copy is given to the candidate. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for UR/OBC/EWS and 35% for SC/ST candidates.
