Eligibility Criteria

Selection Process

As per the UPPSC (Direct Recruitment through Screening Examination) Regulations, 2025, the Commission may hold a Screening Examination for admission to interview. Only candidates who qualify the Screening Examination are called for Interview, and the final merit is prepared by adding 75 percent weightage of the Screening Examination marks and 25 percent weightage of the Interview marks.

Exam Pattern

  • The Screening Examination is objective type, conducted through OMR answer sheets.
  • Each question carries four alternatives, and one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • If a candidate marks more than one answer to a question, it is treated as wrong and penalised in the same way.
  • No marks are deducted for questions left unanswered.
  • The minimum efficiency standard is 35 percent for SC and ST candidates and 40 percent for candidates of other categories; candidates scoring below this are not placed in the merit list.

Research Scholars of the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme who have completed their tenure are eligible for additional weightage marks in the Screening Examination, on a sliding scale depending on the maximum marks of the exam and the duration of the fellowship completed.

  1. Complete One Time Registration by visiting the OTR portal at otr.pariksha.nic.in at least 72 hours before applying, if you do not already have an OTR number.
  2. Visit the official UPPSC website and open All Notifications and Advertisements to locate Advertisement No. D-1/E-1/2026.
  3. Click on Apply, choose Yes for OTR completion, and authenticate using your OTR number through OTP or your OTR password.
  4. On the Applicant Dashboard, click Submit Details under Application Part-2 and fill in the essential and preferential qualification details for the post.
