Sports Norms: Who Can Apply
Only Indian nationals with a recognised sports record can apply. The achievement must be earned on or after 1 April 2024, in an event run under a federation recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Level 4/5: Olympic participation, or at least third place at World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games or Commonwealth Games.
- Level 2/3: representing India at those events, third place at Asian Championships or any National Championship, or first place in the Federation Cup (Senior).
- Level 1: representing India at Commonwealth or Asian Championships, Asia Cup or SAF Games, or third place in the Federation Cup (Senior).
Several disciplines have extra norms in paragraphs 3.2 and 3.3 of the notification, so check yours before paying the fee.
Age Limit and Education
Age must be 18 to 25 years on 1 January 2027, with no relaxation. Final-year students awaiting results are not eligible, and no educational relaxation is allowed.

Selection Process
Candidates face sports trials, then certificate verification. Marks are out of 100: 50 for sports achievement, 40 for trial performance (minimum 25) and 10 for education. Minimum qualifying marks are 70 for Level 4/5, 65 for Level 2/3 and 60 for Level 1. Ties go to the younger candidate.

How to Apply
- Open the RRC SER website, click the Online/E-Application for Sports Quota (OA) 2026-27 link and choose New Registration.
- Enter name, father name, date of birth, community, email and mobile number, then note the registration number and password received by email or SMS.
- Log in and complete the form step by step, including photo identity card and refund bank details.
- Upload photograph (JPG, up to 70 KB), signature and thumb impression (JPG, 10 to 40 KB), and age, education, sports and community certificates as PDF.
- Pay the examination fee online by internet banking, debit card or credit card.
- Submit the form, note the unique registration number and keep two printouts.
