The educational qualification will be assessed based on the last date fixed for submission of the online application. Candidates who do not hold the required qualification by this date will not be considered eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The minimum age for all posts is 18 years. The reference date used to calculate age differs by post: 1 August 2023 for Health Supervisor, Multipurpose Health Worker, and Veterinary or Medical Assistant; 1 August 2024 for Insect Collector and Fisheries Technical Assistant; and 1 August 2025 for Junior Field Investigator.

An additional relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit is available to disabled candidates of all categories with 40 percent or more disability, subject to a valid certificate from the competent medical board. Selection Process

Selection under JILCCE 2026 will be carried out through the following stages:

  • Preliminary Examination (generally conducted only if the number of applications is 50,000 or more; otherwise the Commission may proceed directly to the Main Examination)
  • Main Examination consisting of three papers
  • Verification of certificates of shortlisted candidates

Based on the Preliminary Examination score, a common merit list will be prepared and candidates equal to 15 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted category-wise for the Main Examination. The final merit list for selection will be prepared using the combined marks of Paper 2 and Paper 3 of the Main Examination, since Paper 1 is qualifying in nature and its marks are not added to the merit.

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination will be objective type with multiple choice answers, carrying a duration of two hours. Each question carries three marks, with one mark deducted for every wrong answer.

Minimum qualifying marks in the Preliminary Examination are 40 percent for UR and EWS, 32 percent for SC, ST and women, 34 percent for EBC-I, 36.5 percent for BC-II, and 30 percent for Primitive Tribal Groups.

Main Examination

The Main Examination has three papers, each of two hours duration, with three marks for a correct answer and a deduction of one mark for a wrong answer.

How to Apply

Candidates need to complete the following steps to submit their online application for JILCCE 2026.

General Rules

  • Admission to the examination is entirely provisional. Issue of an admit card does not confirm that a candidate meets the eligibility conditions, since the Commission may verify eligibility-related certificates at any stage after the examination.
  • Reservation benefits will not be given unless claimed in the prescribed column of the application form.
  • Only local resident, caste, and income certificates issued in the prescribed formats and from the specified date onward, as listed in the notification, will be accepted.
  • Name, father's name, and date of birth must be entered exactly as recorded in the Matric or 10th certificate.
  • If a candidate submits more than one online application, only the latest submitted application will be treated as valid and the fee for earlier applications will not be refunded.
  • Candidates found using unfair means, impersonation, or fake certificates during the examination or document verification will have their candidature cancelled and may be barred from JSSC examinations for the next two years.
