UPSSSC JE Agriculture Vacancy Details

The vacancies are notified for the post of Junior Engineer under the Agriculture Directorate, in Level-6 of the pay matrix (pay scale Rs 9300 to Rs 34800, Grade Pay Rs 4200). The posts are a mix of permanent and temporary positions and are distributed across categories as shown below.

Eligibility to Apply for the Main Exam

This is not an open recruitment notification. Only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025) and for whom the Commission has generated a normalized score card are eligible to fill this Main Examination form. Shortlisting of candidates for the Main Exam is done purely on merit, based on the normalized PET-2025 score, and only shortlisted candidates get the opportunity to participate in the Main Exam. Candidates who scored zero or a negative score, whether in absolute or normalized terms, in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted for the Main Exam.

Candidates whose PET-2025 result is marked "Under Investigation" or "Provisional" by the Commission are being permitted to apply for the Main Exam on a provisional basis, subject to the final outcome of the Commission's inquiry into their case.

Educational Qualification

As per the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department Junior Engineer Service Rules, 2015 (Part-4, Rule-8), a candidate must fulfil the following educational qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Junior Engineer:

• Passed the High School examination of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent examination recognized by the government; and
• Holds a three-year diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent qualification recognized by AICTE.

Preferential Qualification: As per Rule-9 of the same service rules, other things being equal, preference in direct recruitment will be given to a candidate who has either served for a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army, or who holds a "B" Certificate from the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Age Limit

As per Rule-10 of the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department Junior Engineer Service Rules, 2015, a candidate must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on the 1st of July of the calendar year in which the vacancies are advertised for direct recruitment. Age relaxation in the upper limit is admissible to candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and such other categories notified by the government from time to time, as per prevailing rules.

Application Fee

The examination fee to be paid at the registration stage is category-wise as shown in the table below. Notably, the base examination fee is nil for all categories at this stage; candidates only pay the online processing charge.

Selection Process

Selection to the post of Junior Engineer (Agriculture) is made on the basis of a written examination, as per the two-tier application and examination process adopted by the Commission (Government Order dated 20-11-2020). Exam Pattern for UPSSSC JE Agriculture Main Exam

The written examination will consist of a single paper of 100 objective, multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed within a duration of two hours (120 minutes). Each question carries one mark, and there is a provision for negative marking: one-fourth (25 percent) of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.

How to Apply for UPSSSC JE Agriculture Main Exam 2026

The application process for this Main Exam is entirely online, and applicants must complete it in a single sitting rather than in multiple stages. The Commission has laid out the following process for filling the form.

1. Visit the official UPSSSC website and open the relevant advertisement under the Live Advertisement Segment on the homepage.
2. Log in using your PET 2025 registration number and authenticate through the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email address.
3. Verify the personal details that are automatically fetched from your PET 2025 application, such as name, category, EWS status and contact details.
4. Fill in the mandatory educational qualification details, including board or university name, year of passing, certificate number and marks obtained.
5. Check your photo and signature, which are carried forward automatically from PET 2025 and cannot be changed, then click Continue.
6. Select your preferential qualification if applicable, verify the auto-filled correspondence address, and read the declaration carefully.
7. Enter the verification code and click Save and Submit to lock in the details entered in the application form.
8. Pay the requisite fee through credit card, debit card, internet banking, UPI or SBI e-challan, then download and print the final submitted application form.

If the fee payment is successful but the application form does not display afterward, it means the fee has not yet been reconciled against the application. In that case, candidates should use the "Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification" option under the Applicant Segment on the Commission's website to complete the reconciliation.

Correction in Application Form

Once an application is finally submitted, a candidate can modify it only through the Applicant's Dashboard under the Applicant Segment, by logging in with the PET-2025 registration number, clicking the Modify Application button and verifying through OTP. Only limited fields can be changed at this stage: the correspondence address, personal details such as EWS and horizontal reservation category (disability, ex-servicemen, gender, outstanding sportsperson), the mandatory or preferential qualification recorded in the application, and marital status. No other field can be modified. This correction facility is available only until 14 October 2026, after which no modification or representation regarding the application will be entertained.
