Eligibility Criteria
The educational qualification required differs by stream:
- Graduate Apprenticeship: B.E. or B.Tech in the concerned discipline from any recognised university.
- Technician Apprenticeship: Diploma in the respective discipline from a recognised State Board.
- Commercial Practice Apprenticeship: Diploma in Commercial Practice from a recognised Board.
Only candidates who completed their qualifying examination as regular students during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible to apply. Candidates who passed the qualifying examination before 2021 are not eligible. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, or who have one year or more of experience from any institution, or who have been terminated or resigned from apprenticeship training, are also not eligible. Combining this apprenticeship with any other institution is not permitted.
How to Apply
- Check eligibility and read the official notification, Advt No. URSC:03:2026 dated 29 July 2026, on the ISRO or URSC website.
- Register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at nats.education.gov.in, uploading your degree or diploma certificate and a valid government-issued ID.
- Note the Enrolment Number or Apprenticeship Registration Number generated after successful registration on the NATS portal.
- Ensure your Aadhaar number is seeded with your bank account and enabled for DBT payment before proceeding.
- Register and log in on the UMANG portal, search for URSC Apprenticeship, and open the application form for the relevant position.
- Fill in all required details, including the NATS Enrolment Number, and upload the prescribed documents such as mark sheets, degree or diploma certificate, photograph, signature, and category certificates where applicable.
- Review the application carefully, since no changes are allowed once it is submitted, and submit it before the closing date of 28 August 2026.

Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their percentage of marks in the respective discipline. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, but they will not be eligible for travelling allowance for this purpose. On successful completion of document verification, a panel will be drawn up based on academic scores in the Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Diploma in Commercial Practice. Induction of apprentices against the vacant positions will be made strictly according to position in this panel. Selected candidates will be informed only by email.
General Rules
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
- Each candidate may submit only one application from a single, valid and active email ID; in case of multiple or duplicate applications for the same discipline, only the latest application will be considered.
- Data entered in the online application will be treated as final, and no changes are permitted after submission.
- Selected candidates must execute a contract of apprenticeship as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and amendment Act 1973, and submit a Medical Certificate of fitness at the time of joining.
- The apprenticeship period is 12 months from the date the contract is executed.
- Trainees will have no claim to employment at URSC or any other ISRO/Department of Space centre or unit after completing the training.
- Candidates with sandwich course qualifications, certificate courses, private college degrees, short-term or certificate courses, or those currently pursuing higher studies, are not acceptable.
- No interim correspondence will be entertained, and canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
- URSC reserves the right to cancel or alter the number of vacancies in any discipline, or the entire apprentice engagement process, without assigning any reason.
- Any discrepancy noticed at any stage in name, age, percentage or year of passing will lead to cancellation of candidature.
