As per the state government's rules, local resident candidates of Chhattisgarh who actually appear in the exam will get their exam fee refunded to the same bank account that was used to make the payment, once the exam result is declared.

Vacancy Details

The 2292 posts are divided into two cadres, E-Cadre with 795 posts and T-Cadre with 1497 posts, both at Pay Matrix Level-06. The district-wise, category-wise breakup for each cadre is given below.

Beyond the category-wise reservation shown above, 30 percent of posts at every level and in every category are horizontally reserved for women, with preference to widowed or divorced women candidates as per the Chhattisgarh Civil Service (Special Provision for Appointment of Women) Rules, 1997. Posts are also reserved for Divyang (PwBD) candidates at 7 percent, following the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and for ex-servicemen as per the rules issued from time to time by the state government. In Janjgir-Champa district, all 70 advertised posts will be filled in Sakti district, and in Korea district, 50 out of 100 advertised posts will be filled in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, as per a General Administration Department order dated 9 February 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

A candidate must have completed 21 years of age and must not have completed 35 years of age as on 1 January 2026.

• SC, ST and non-creamy layer OBC candidates of Chhattisgarh get an age relaxation of up to 5 years.
• Women candidates get an age relaxation of up to 10 years as per the Chhattisgarh Civil Service (Special Provision for Appointment of Women) Rules, 1997.
• Divyang (PwBD) candidates get relaxation as per the directions of the General Administration Department.
• Existing Chhattisgarh government employees and certain categories of ex-servicemen get specific relaxations as detailed in the notification, generally up to 38 years.
• Regardless of the combination of relaxations claimed, the upper age limit cannot exceed 45 years.

Educational Qualification

A candidate must hold one of the following combinations of qualifications.

• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50 percent marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name it is known), or
• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 45 percent marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education obtained as per NCTE Regulations, 2002, or
• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50 percent marks, along with a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or
• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50 percent marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Special Education, or
• Graduation, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name it is known)

In addition to one of the above, every candidate must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate government, in line with the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for this purpose.

A candidate must also hold a valid Chhattisgarh local resident certificate.

Selection Process And Exam Pattern

Selection to the Assistant Teacher posts will be made purely on the basis of marks obtained in the LSAT26 written examination, conducted by CGSSB (formerly Vyapam).

• The exam will consist of 100 objective type (multiple choice) questions, each carrying 1 mark.
• Candidates will get 2 hours to attempt the paper.
• Each question has four options, and the correct answer must be marked on the OMR answer sheet with a black or blue ballpoint pen.
• One-fourth mark will be deducted for every wrong answer, and marking more than one option for a question will also be treated as a wrong answer.
• No marks are awarded or deducted for questions that are left unanswered.
• The selection list will be prepared based on the marks scored in this written exam and will remain valid for 6 months from the date it is issued.
• A separate waiting list will also be prepared for each category, with names equal to a minimum of 1 percent and a maximum of 25 percent of the vacant posts in that category, valid for 9 months from the date of issue.

2. If you have not registered before, complete your Profile Registration on the portal with your basic personal details.
3. Log in with your registered profile and select the online application for the LSAT26 Assistant Teacher exam.
4. Your basic details will be picked up automatically from your Profile Registration, so review them carefully before proceeding.
5. Upload a recent photograph with a light-coloured background and your scanned signature, each between 50 KB and 100 KB in JPG or JPEG format.
6. Pay the applicable exam fee online through the payment options provided on the portal.
7. Check every entry in the form once more, since no changes are allowed based on later corrections beyond the window given for it, then click Submit.
8. Download and keep a printout of the successfully submitted application form for future reference.

Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates should note the following instructions for the LSAT26 exam day.

• Reach the exam centre at least 2 hours before the exam starts, since frisking and identity verification take time.
• The main gate will be closed 30 minutes before the exam start time, which means it will close at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM exam.
• Carry the printed admit card along with an original photo ID such as a voter ID card, driving licence, PAN card or Aadhaar card. Entry will not be given without an original photo ID.
• Wear light-coloured, half-sleeved clothing. Black, dark blue, dark green, purple, maroon and dark chocolate coloured clothes are not allowed.
• Wear slippers or sandals rather than shoes.
• Ear ornaments of any kind are not allowed inside the exam hall.
• Mobile phones, electronic devices, watches, wallets, pouches, scarves, belts and caps are not allowed inside the exam room.
• Candidates cannot leave the exam room during the first half hour or the last half hour of the exam.
• Candidates wearing religious or cultural attire should report earlier than the general reporting time, as they will need to go through an additional security check.

General Rules

• CGSSB's responsibility is limited to conducting the exam and declaring the result. Document verification, final selection and appointment will be carried out by the concerned recruiting department, not by CGSSB.
• Every candidate selected through direct recruitment will be placed on probation for 3 years, which can be extended by up to 1 more year if the work is found unsatisfactory.
• Selected candidates will have to undergo character and antecedent verification through police verification.
• Candidates selected under the Divyang category will have their disability benchmark and functional capability assessed by the District Medical Board of their allotted district before they are allowed to join duty.
• Recruitment and appointment to these posts will follow the Chhattisgarh School Education Service (Teaching and Administrative Cadre) Recruitment and Promotion Rules, 2026.
