Officer Scale II and Scale III vacancies are comparatively smaller in number and are concentrated in states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from certain specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to an eligibility certificate from the Government of India where applicable.

Educational Qualification

All educational qualifications must be from a university or board recognised by the Government of India, and the result should be declared on or before 21 September 2026.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 1 September 2026.

Age Relaxation

The maximum age relaxation permitted is on a cumulative basis with only one additional category, and relevant certificates must be produced at the interview stage for Officer posts or at document verification for Office Assistant posts.

Officer Scale II specialist cadre posts have an additional Professional Knowledge paper, taking their exam to 240 questions for 200 marks over 150 minutes. There is a penalty of one fourth of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer in the objective papers.

Selection Process

• Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Online Preliminary Examination, followed by an Online Main Examination. Final merit is based only on the Main Examination marks, and there is no interview for this post.
• Officer Scale I: Online Preliminary Examination, followed by an Online Main Examination and a common interview. The final score combines the Main Examination and interview in an 80:20 ratio.
• Officer Scale II and III: A Single Level Online Examination followed by a common interview, with the final score again combining the exam and interview in an 80:20 ratio.

Candidates need to score above the minimum cutoff in each individual test as well as an adequate score overall to be shortlisted for the next stage. The interview carries 100 marks, and the qualifying mark is 40 percent, relaxed to 35 percent for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official IBPS website and open the CRP for RRBs link, then choose the option for Officer Scale I, II and III or for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) depending on the post you want to apply for.
2. Click on new registration and enter your basic details to generate a provisional registration number and password, which will also be sent to you by email and SMS.
3. Log back in using the provisional registration number and password, then fill in the online application form carefully using the save and next option to verify every field.
4. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, a handwritten declaration, and your SSC or 10th standard certificate along with any category certificate as per the specifications given in the notification.
5. Pay the application fee or intimation charges online using a debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS or a mobile wallet, since online payment is the only accepted mode.
6. After the payment is confirmed, take a printout of the e-receipt and the completed online application form and keep it safely along with your registration number and password.

A candidate may apply for the Office Assistant post and for one Officer post, but cannot apply for more than one post within the Officer cadre. Separate registration and fee payment is required for each post.
