Selection Process
BSNL JTO Direct Recruitment 2026 selection is done through the following stages:
- Stage 1 – CBT Exam: Computer Based Multiple Choice Objective Type Test (3 hours) covering Engineering Stream (Sections I and II) and General Ability Test (Section III).

Bond, Training and Probation
- Bond: Selected candidates must execute a bond of Rs. 6 Lakhs to serve BSNL for at least 5 years from the date of appointment.
- Probation Period: Two years.
- Training: All JTO(T)-DR candidates must complete training as follows:
- JTO Phase-I Training: 10 weeks
- Field Training: 4 weeks
- JTO Phase-II Training (Specialisation): 6 weeks
- During training, candidates receive a stipend (training allowance) as decided by BSNL.
- If a candidate fails training in the 1st attempt, one more chance is given. Failing again means no appointment as JTO.
Seniority
Seniority among JTO(T) candidates shall be determined as follows:
- 60% weightage: Marks obtained in the Direct Recruitment CBT Examination
- 40% weightage: Marks obtained in Phase-I pre-appointment training
- In case of a tie, the older candidate will be senior.
Circle Preference and Allotment
