Application Fee

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Diploma obtained through a full-time regular course approved by AICTE, in the branch prescribed for their post code. A minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks is required for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates, and 50 percent for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies.

Only the exact prescribed Diploma discipline is accepted; equivalent or related diplomas such as Petrochemical, Mechanical (Production) or Electronics Engineering are not eligible, and claims of equivalent qualification will not be considered. Diplomas obtained through Part-time, Correspondence or Distance Learning modes are also not eligible, while Sandwich Diploma courses and recognized lateral entry diplomas (after Class XII Science or ITI 2nd year entry) are accepted. Candidates holding a higher qualification such as B.E., B.Tech. or A.M.I.E. are not eligible for these posts.
Candidates should also have a minimum of one year of relevant post-qualification work experience, or one year of post-qualification apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, in a Refining, Petroleum, Power, Lube, Petrochemical or Fertilizer industry of repute. For Mechanical and Electrical disciplines, experience in the Engineering industry of repute is also considered. The date of reckoning for this minimum experience is 01.07.2026.

The total cumulative age relaxation across multiple applicable categories is capped at 15 years. A Board of Secondary Education Matriculation certificate is the only acceptable proof of age.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in the NG-2 grade at a starting minimum basic pay of Rs. 26,500 in the pay scale of Rs. 26,500 to Rs. 34,000, following pre-employment medical examination. Besides basic pay, candidates will receive Dearness Allowance on the industrial pattern and other allowances or benefits as per Corporation rules.
Selection Process
BPCL will select candidates through three stages.
Stage 1 - Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective type paper of 100 questions carrying 1 mark each, to be completed in 120 minutes, conducted in English only with no negative marking. The paper has two sections: Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs (40 marks).
Stage 2 - Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT): Candidates who qualify the CBT as per the cut-off decided by the Corporation will be called for a qualifying Skill/Proficiency Test at the respective refinery location.
Stage 3 - Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final appointment depends on candidates meeting BPCL's Medical Fitness norms and standards. Candidature remains provisional until appointment.

General Rules
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Candidates are placed for Mumbai Refinery or Kochi Refinery, but BPCL reserves the right to post or transfer them to any other existing or future Refinery, Marketing location, office or project based on business requirements.
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/EWS candidates applying against un-reserved posts are considered on general standards, without relaxation in age or qualification cut-off.
- All other selection parameters being equal, preference for Post Codes B, C and D will be given to erstwhile Kochi Refinery Project Evictees.
- SC/ST/PwBD candidates appearing for the CBT and SPT are reimbursed single second class sleeper rail fare for a distance of 30 km or more, by the shortest route, on production of the ticket.
- Any request for change of category once the online application is submitted will not be considered.
