UPGET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December 2026.
• There is no upper age limit mentioned in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

Minimum qualification as per INC (Indian Nursing Council) regulations. Any one of the following is required:

• 10+2 with English and minimum 40% marks from a recognized board (State/National). Three core elective subjects (excluding English) may be used for percentage calculation. Pass marks in English is mandatory.
• 10+2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational ANM Course from a school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• 10+2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational Stream — Healthcare Science from a recognized CBSE/State/Central board.
• Registered ANM with passing marks.

Note: SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5% in total marks.

Medical Fitness

• The candidate must be medically fit.
• Candidates with loco-motor disability of 40% to 50% of lower extremity are eligible under PwD category.

Domicile Requirement (Government Colleges)

• For admission to all Government GNM Training Centers/Schools, the candidate must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
• A valid domicile certificate issued by competent authority OR passing both 10th and 12th board exams from Uttar Pradesh is required.
• Only Indian citizens are eligible.

Reservation Policy

• Reservation as per Uttar Pradesh State Government policy within sanctioned seats.
• PwD (Loco-motor 40-50% lower limb): 5% horizontal reservation. Medical verification by a board constituted by Government Medical College with a Nursing Expert is mandatory.
• In-service ANM candidates: 15% Government seats (except UPUMS) reserved — ANM must have 5 years experience in DGMH/NRHM/NHM in UP till 15.06.2026.
• Male candidates: 10% Government seats (except UPUMS) reserved.
• EWS quota: 10% as per UP Government directives. Valid EWS certificate issued on or after 1st April 2026 required.
• OBC certificate: Valid only if issued on or after 1st April 2026.
• Caste certificates issued only by Tehsildar/SDM of Uttar Pradesh Government are acceptable and must be verifiable online.
• NCC 'C Certificate with Grade B' is acceptable. NCC A and B Certificates are not considered.

• Exam Duration: 140 Minutes (11:00 AM to 1:20 PM)
• Mode: Offline — MCQ on OMR Sheet using black ball point pen
• Medium: Bilingual — English and Hindi
• Marking: +1 for each correct answer. No Negative Marking.

ABVMU UPGET 2026 Syllabus

• Science (50 Questions): Based on Class 10th Science syllabus.
• General Knowledge (30 Questions): Based on Class 12th General Knowledge.
• English (20 Questions): Based on Class 12th English.

Candidates are advised to refer to NCERT/UP Board textbooks for Class 10th and 12th for thorough preparation.

UPGET 2026 Exam Centre Cities

The entrance test will be conducted in the following 20 cities across Uttar Pradesh (subject to change for administrative reasons):

Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Basti, Banda, Ghaziabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Candidates must provide 3 city preferences in order during the application. The allotted centre city will be mentioned on the admit card.

UPGET 2026 Admit Card

• Admit card will be available online from 9th June 2026 on abvmuup.edu.in.
• Download using Registration ID and login password.
• Take a coloured printout of the admit card. Digital format will not be accepted at the centre.
• Admit card will not be sent by post. Duplicate admit card will not be issued at the examination centre.
• Candidates will be photographed/videographed with their admit card at the exam venue for verification.
• Do not tamper with the admit card or make any changes.

Examination Day Instructions

• Reporting Time: 9:00 AM (2 hours before exam start).
• Mandatory biometric capturing will be done at the entry gate. No entry after 10:15 AM.
• No candidate is allowed to leave the exam hall before the exam ends.
• Before leaving, hand over the Question Booklet, original OMR sheet, and office copy of OMR to the invigilator.

Barred Items (Not Allowed in Exam Centre)

• Textual material, bits of paper, calculators, pens, scale, erasers, pen drives, electronic pen/scanner.
• Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphone, pager, health band, smart watch.
• Wallet, goggles, handbags, belt, cap, watch, wristwatch, bracelet, camera.
• Ornaments, metallic items, food items (opened or packed), water bottles.
• Any device that can be used for unfair means.

Important: Only the admit card and a valid identity card are allowed inside the examination centre. No storage facility for belongings will be available.

UPGET 2026 Result and Merit List

• Result date will be announced on the official website abvmuup.edu.in.
• A combined merit list and category-wise merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates score equal marks, the following order will be used to break the tie:

1. Higher marks in Science in the test.
2. Higher marks in English in the test.
3. Higher marks in General Knowledge in the test.
4. Higher age (older candidate preferred).
5. Higher Class 10th examination percentage (Hindi/other language and English marks in order).

Counselling and Admission

• Counselling details will be available on the official website after result declaration.
• Selection and college allotment will be done strictly on the basis of UPGET 2026 merit list through counselling only.
• Qualifying candidates must deposit the prescribed fee on the notified date. Failure to do so will cancel the admission claim.
• Candidates must join the course within the specified period.

How to Apply for ABVMU UPGET 2026 GNM Entrance Test

1. Visit the official website of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University at abvmuup.edu.in and click on the link for UP GNM Entrance Test (UPGET) 2026.
2. Click the Register button and fill in your personal details including name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender, email address, mobile number, category, and sub-category. Verify your email and mobile using OTP to complete registration. You will receive your Registration ID and one-time login password.
3. Login using your Registration ID and one-time password. Change the default password after first login to proceed further with the application form.
4. Fill Stage 1 (Personal Information), Stage 2 (Address), and Stage 3 (Educational Qualifications and Centre City Preferences). Provide your 10th and 12th marks details and select 3 preferred exam centre cities in order of preference.
5. In Stage 4, upload your Live Photo (captured via webcam), passport size photograph (.jpg, 50-200 KB, 4.5x3.5 cm), Signature (in running handwriting with black ballpoint pen on white paper), and scanned Verification Sheet.
6. Review all details in Stage 5 (Form Preview). Check the Declaration Box and click Save and Pay Fee to confirm your form.
7. Pay the application fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. UR/OBC: Rs. 3000, SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 2000. After successful payment, the form is automatically submitted and a confirmation message will appear on screen.
8. Download and save the final submitted application form by clicking the Print button after successful fee payment. Note down your Registration ID and keep it safe for admit card, result, and counselling.
