Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Mandatory Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (Class 12) examination from Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent exam recognized by the government.
- Desirable/Additional Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates who have served a minimum of 2 years in the Pradeshik Sena (Territorial Army), OR have obtained the NCC 'B' Certificate.
- Candidates must possess the mandatory educational qualification by the last date of application i.e., 29-06-2026.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Age is calculated as of the first day of July of the year in which the vacancies were advertised by the Commission.
- Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories is applicable as per UP Government rules.
- Ex-servicemen, state government employees, and other special categories will get age relaxation as per relevant UP Government orders.

Note: Physical measurement test is of qualifying nature. The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written (main) examination only.
Selection Process
- Step 1 – PET-2025 Shortlisting: Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) and have been issued a score card by UPSSSC are eligible to apply.
- Step 2 – Written (Main) Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted for the main exam based on their normalised PET-2025 score. 15 times the number of vacancies (categorywise) will be shortlisted for the main exam up to the final cut-off marks.
- Step 3 – Physical Measurement Test: Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will appear for the Physical Measurement Test (qualifying in nature) conducted by UPSSSC.
- Step 4 – Final Merit List: Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination by candidates who qualify the physical standards.
Examination Structure
The written main examination will consist of one question paper with 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. Total marks are 100 and total time duration is 2 hours (120 minutes). There is a negative marking provision: 1/4th (25%) of marks allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
