The selection process differs based on the category of the post:
For Category-1 and Category-2 Posts
- Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (if required) - 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes

Note: The Preliminary Examination is conducted only if the number of applications exceeds a specified limit. If conducted, its marks are NOT added to the final merit list. Based on the Preliminary result, candidates up to 15 times the number of vacancies are called for the Main Examination. Based on the Main Examination, candidates up to 3 times the number of posts are called for Interview.

Reservation Policy
Reservation will be provided to candidates belonging to:
- Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) of Uttar Pradesh
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) of Uttar Pradesh
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Uttar Pradesh
- Horizontal Reservation: Women, Ex-Servicemen, Divyangjan (PwD), Dependants of Freedom Fighters, and Outstanding Sports Persons of UP
Important: Candidates who are not native residents of Uttar Pradesh will be treated as Unreserved even if they belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories. For female candidates, only the caste certificate from the father's side is valid. The EWS certificate must be of the financial year preceding the year of application.

General Rules and Important Instructions
