UCO Bank Apprentice Online Form 2026: 530 Provisional Seats in 31 States and UTs

UCO Bank Apprentice Online Form 2026 - 530 Seats

UCO Bank has opened applications for its 2026-27 apprentice batch, and the UCO Bank Apprentice Online Form 2026 window is short: registration started on 14 October 2026 and closes on 29 October 2026. The Human Resources Management Department at the Kolkata Head Office has identified 530 provisional seats across 31 States and Union Territories for graduates aged 20 to 28, under Advertisement No. HO/HRM/RECR/2026-27/COM-02.

This notice works differently from a regular bank vacancy. You apply in two steps, first on the government NATS apprenticeship portal and then with the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC), and what you get at the end is a one-year training contract with a monthly stipend, not a permanent post. Read the sections below before you register, because several rules in this notice cannot be corrected after you submit.

Two Portals, One Application: How This Process Is Different

Most bank notices send you to a single website. Here the application is split. The notice first asks every candidate to register on the NATS portal of the Government of India and apply for the UCO Bank apprenticeship there. Only candidates who have done this receive an email from BFSI SSC, the agency running the test, asking them to fill a detailed application and pay the examination fee.

The details you enter with BFSI SSC must match what you entered on NATS. The notice clearly states that any change or alteration may disqualify the candidature, so keep your NATS registration details in front of you when you fill the second form.

The notice also says that all revisions and corrigenda, if any, will be hosted only on the UCO Bank website, so check its career section regularly. No hard copy of the application or any document is to be sent to the Head Office, and call letters, where required, are sent by email only.

Vacancy Details: State and Category Wise

The 530 seats are spread across 31 States and Union Territories. The bank describes the numbers as provisional, so they may change with its actual requirement, and it also reserves the right to place an apprentice in any district of the State or UT selected. If some seats stay unfilled because of unsuitability or too few candidates, no claim for engagement arises.

The last four columns (OC, HI, VI and ID) show the seats for persons with benchmark disabilities. The notice lists them as part of the total, not on top of it. Across all States they come to 25 seats for orthopedically challenged candidates, 9 for hearing impaired, 1 for visually impaired and none for intellectual disability.

Where the Seats Are

West Bengal has the largest share with 86 seats, followed by Uttar Pradesh (45), Odisha (41), Rajasthan (37), Bihar (34) and Maharashtra (32). At the other end, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Pondicherry and Sikkim have just one seat each. Because you can apply to only one State or UT, it is worth comparing the seat count for your category in your home State before you commit.

Reading the Category Columns

The category totals are SC 106, ST 49, OBC (NCL) 147, EWS 23 and UR 205. OBC candidates who fall in the creamy layer, or whose caste is not in the Central List, are not entitled to OBC reservation and should mark their category as General in the form. The notice adds that a change of category will not be permitted at any stage.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is checked as on 1 October 2026. The conditions below come straight from the notification.

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1962 to settle permanently, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries and Vietnam to settle permanently in India. Candidates in the last three groups need a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

A graduate degree from a recognised university or institute approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies is required, and graduation must be completed. The notice asks for mark sheets and a provisional or final degree certificate for the graduation issued on or after 1 April 2022. Marks should be entered as a percentage to two decimal places, and CGPA or OGPA must be converted into a percentage.

Experience and Earlier Apprenticeship

  • Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after completing their education are not eligible.
  • Candidates who have already done an apprenticeship with UCO Bank or any other organization, or who are currently pursuing one under the Apprentices Act, 1961, cannot be considered.
  • An apprentice terminated by the organization where the training was being done is also not eligible.
  • Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen will not be engaged, and there is no reservation for them in this process.

Local Language

Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand at least one local language of the State or UT they apply for. A language test is held during document verification, and a candidate who fails it will not be engaged. Those who can show a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet or certificate proving they studied the local language are exempt from the test.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit is a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years as on 1 October 2026. The maximum of 28 years applies to Unreserved and EWS candidates, and the upper limit is relaxed for other groups as shown below.

Category Age Relaxation
SC and ST 5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 3 years
PwBD (SC and ST) 15 years
PwBD (OBC) 13 years
PwBD (UR and EWS) 10 years
Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried Up to 35 years for UR and EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC and ST

Candidates claiming age relaxation must show the required certificates in original, along with photocopies, at document verification or at any stage of the engagement process.

Stipend and Training Period

The training lasts one year from the date of the contract. The apprentice receives a monthly stipend of Rs 16,650, which includes any subsidy from the Government of India. It is made up of two parts: UCO Bank pays Rs 10,500 into the apprentice's account every month, and the Government share of Rs 6,150 is credited directly through DBT, subject to change as per Government guidelines.

No other allowances or benefits are payable. Daily training hours will be the same as those of the clerical staff of the Bank. Transport, hostel or any other accommodation during the training is not provided and the Bank accepts no liability for it.

Application Fee

The fee is paid to BFSI SSC, not to the bank, through the secure payment link in the application form. Only online payment is accepted, and the payment window is 14 October 2026 to 29 October 2026.

Category Fee
SC and ST candidates Rs 200 plus GST
PwBD candidates Rs 200 plus GST
General, EWS and OBC - male candidates Rs 800 plus GST
General, EWS and OBC - female and transgender candidates Rs 600 plus GST

The fee is non-refundable whether or not you attend the test, and even if you are not shortlisted. It cannot be held for any other exam or adjusted against another engagement process, and an application cannot be withdrawn once made. An application with an unsuccessful fee payment is treated as incomplete and is not valid.

Selection Process

Online Objective Test

Selection is based on one online objective test of 100 marks to be completed in 60 minutes. The medium is English or Hindi.

Name of Test Questions Maximum Marks
General and Financial Awareness 25 25
General English 25 25
Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude 25 25
Quantitative Aptitude 25 25
Total 100 100

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Category Minimum Marks Out of 100
General and EWS 40
SC, ST, OBC and PwBD 35

Merit List and Wait List

The merit list is drawn State wise and category wise, with qualified candidates ranked by marks in descending order. If candidates tie on marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. Results of provisionally qualified candidates will be published on the bank website. The bank may also declare a wait list at its own discretion to fill seats left by candidates who do not accept or do not report.

Document Verification and Medical Fitness

Shortlisted candidates appear for document verification at the allotted centre at their own risk and expense, and the bank does not reimburse travel costs. Original certificates for education, age and category must be produced. Final engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per the bank's requirement. The bank also keeps the right to change, cancel or add to any criteria, selection method or provisional allotment.

Taking the Exam from Home: What to Prepare

This test is not held at an exam centre. Candidates sit it from their own residence, so the setup matters as much as the preparation.

  • Use your own camera-enabled desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
  • BFSI SSC sends the exam link and login credentials by email on the day before the exam.
  • Display the Aadhaar card, the same one uploaded on the NATS portal, to the camera as ID proof.
  • Stay isolated from family members during the test. Except for PwBD candidates, nobody else is allowed near the candidate, and detailed guidelines come from the exam conducting agency.
  • Failure to register for the written test disqualifies the candidate from further selection.

Other details will be given in an Information Handout that BFSI SSC emails to eligible candidates. The test agency will also compare answer patterns across candidates, and if responses appear shared, the bank can cancel the candidature and withhold the result.

How to Apply for UCO Bank Apprentice Online Form 2026

The application is completely online, and no other mode is accepted. Follow the steps in order.

  1. Check that you meet the nationality, graduation, age and local language conditions as on 1 October 2026, and decide the one State or Union Territory you will apply for.
  2. Register on the NATS apprenticeship portal through its Student Register/Login section, and keep your login ID and password safe.
  3. After logging in, open the UCO Bank apprenticeship advertisement on the NATS portal and apply for it, then note down your Enrolment Id for all future correspondence.
  4. Wait for the email from BFSI SSC (info@bfsissc.com) inviting you to give details such as caste category and choice of districts for training.
  5. Fill the BFSI SSC application carefully, with your name spelt exactly as in your certificates and mark sheets, and match every detail with your NATS entry.
  6. Pay the applicable fee online through the secure payment link on or before 29 October 2026, as no other payment mode is accepted.
  7. Check all details before clicking Submit, because no change is allowed after submission.
  8. Keep your email and mobile number active, and watch for the exam link and login credentials that arrive on the day before the test on 7 November 2026.

Keep a valid personal email ID and contact number active until the engagement process is complete, since call letters and updates are sent there. If you apply more than once, the notice says only the last valid complete application is considered in one place and that two or more applications from the same candidate will be rejected in another, so the safest course is to submit just one.

Documents and Certificates to Keep Ready

  • Date of birth proof and graduation mark sheets with the provisional or final degree certificate
  • Scanned photograph and signature as per the portal guidelines
  • Aadhaar card, which is also needed for the exam day ID check
  • 10th or 12th mark sheet showing the local language, if you want exemption from the language test
  • Caste certificate in the Government of India format for SC, ST and OBC candidates, if called for
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026 and valid till the date of document verification
  • EWS Income and Asset Certificate valid for 2026-27, issued for the financial year 2025-26
  • Disability certificate in the prescribed format for PwBD candidates, who may also face UDID verification or a fresh medical assessment by a bank medical board
  • Certificates supporting any age relaxation, and a university conversion certificate if your result is in CGPA or OGPA

The notice warns that fraudulent disability certificates or UDID cards invite strict action under Sections 89 and 91 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Terms of Engagement You Should Read Twice

The notice is unusually direct about what an apprenticeship does and does not offer. In summary:

  • An apprentice is a trainee and not a worker or employee of the bank, and labour law benefits available to employees do not apply.
  • PF, ESI and bonus do not apply, and apprentices cannot join or form a union.
  • The apprentice has no right to claim employment in the bank after training, and the bank has no obligation to offer regular employment.
  • A Contract of Apprenticeship must be signed before training begins, and the contract ends automatically when the period expires.
  • If a selected candidate does not report on the date the on-the-job training starts, the contract is terminated.
  • Selected candidates cannot withdraw except for reasons beyond their control, and those who leave may have to refund the training cost and the stipend received.

Rules That Can Cost You the Application

  • Spell your name exactly as it appears in certificates and mark sheets. Any mismatch may disqualify the candidature.
  • Name, category, date of birth, address, mobile number, email ID and exam centre cannot be changed after submission, and requests to change them will not be entertained.
  • Incomplete applications are treated as invalid, and the bank may reject any application without giving a reason.
  • Information found false at a later stage can lead to cancellation, termination even after engagement, and legal consequences.
  • Unfair means, impersonation, leaking exam content or canvassing can lead to disqualification and a ban from future bank recruitments.
  • Notices are sent only to the email ID and mobile number given in the form, and the bank is not responsible if they do not reach you.
  • Any dispute falls under the sole jurisdiction of the courts at Kolkata.
