No person who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the prior permission of the Central Government in writing, be appointed under these rules. However, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan is not debarred from appointment in the Force.

Selection Process - SSB Sub Inspector Recruitment 2026

The selection process for SSB SI Recruitment 2026 consists of multiple stages. Candidates must clear each stage to proceed further.

Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

Important Note on PET: No Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be conducted for Sub Inspector (Staff Nurse) and Sub Inspector (Pioneer). PET is applicable only for Sub Inspector (Communication).

Stage II: Written Examination (CBT)

Candidates declared qualified in Physical Standard Test (PST) will appear in the Written Examination conducted as follows:

Stage III: Documentation, Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME)

  • On the basis of merit in written examination, candidates up to 3 times the number of vacancies (category wise) will be called for Documentation and Detailed Medical Examination.
  • Document Verification will be carried out before DME / RME. All original documents claimed in the application must be produced. Failure to produce documents will result in cancellation of candidature.
  • DME will be conducted as per Revised Medical Guidelines dated 20.05.2015 issued by ADG Medical CAPF and amendments.
  • Candidates declared unfit in DME can apply for Review Medical Examination (RME). Decision of the RME Board is final. No second appeal will be entertained.
  • Being declared fit in Medical Examination gives no legal claim or right to any candidate for final appointment in Government service.

Final Selection

The final selection list is prepared in order of merit, category wise, after completion of Review Medical Examination. In case of tie in marks, a candidate securing more marks in Part-II (Technical Subject) will be ranked higher. If marks are still equal, the candidate senior in age gets priority. If date of birth is also same, alphabetical order of names in English (dictionary pattern) - A first, B second etc. - will be used.

  3. Fill in Part-I of the application form with personal details including your name (as in Matriculation certificate), father's/husband's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender, nationality, religion, marital status, category, Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID.
  4. Upload your passport size photograph in JPG format (less than 12 KB and greater than 4 KB, 100x120 pixels, white background with 75% face visible) and your signature in JPG format (less than 12 KB and greater than 4 KB, 140x60 pixels).
  5. Pay the application fee of Rs 200 through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and female candidates are fully exempted from fee payment.
  6. Submit the application form after verifying all details carefully. Note down your registration number and take a printout of the acknowledgement for future reference. The application can be edited till the closing date.

General Rules and Instructions

  • A candidate can apply for only one post.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in any stage of recruitment tests.
