In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will receive other allowances as admissible in the Force from time to time. Selected candidates will be governed under the Contribution Pension Scheme (New Pension Scheme). The post is temporary but likely to be continued. Candidate must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan may also be appointed with prior permission of the Central Government.

Sports Qualification (Order of Preference)
Candidates must have sports achievements in the past 2 years from the cut-off date (30 days from publication in Employment News). The order of preference for sports qualification:
- First Preference: Sportspersons who have represented a state or the country in National or International competitions.
- Second Preference: Medal winners in Senior/Junior National Championships.
- Third Preference: Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
- Fourth Preference: Medal winners in Khelo India University Games.
- Fifth Preference: Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
- Sixth Preference: Sportspersons who have represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by Inter-University Sports Boards.

Selection Process – SSB Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment 2026
The selection process has two stages:
Stage-I (For International and National Medal Winners)
- Documentation: Verification of all original documents including age, education, caste, and sports achievements. Candidates not producing required documents will be rejected.
- Checking of Sports Achievements: Field trial/skill test exempted for international participants and State/UT National Championship medal winners up to 3rd place.
- Marks for International Competition: Gold Medal – 30 Marks | Silver Medal – 29 Marks | Bronze Medal – 28 Marks | Participation – 26 Marks
- Marks for National Competition (State/UT representation): Gold Medal – 25 Marks | Silver Medal – 24 Marks | Bronze Medal – 23 Marks
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height and chest measurement as per category. BMI check (18 to 25).
- Field Trial/Skill Test: 50 marks total. Minimum qualifying marks: 60% for all categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, General).
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates declared qualified will undergo detailed medical examination on merit basis.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): Available for candidates declared unfit in DME if they submit written consent within 24 hours.
Stage-II (For Other Eligible Candidates)

Tie-Breaking Principle
If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the tie will be resolved by: (i) Higher medal position (Gold before Silver before Bronze); (ii) More medals; (iii) More participation in higher competition; (iv) Older candidate; (v) Alphabetical order of name in English.
