Educational Qualification

• Must have passed the 10th class examination under the 10+2 system or its equivalent
• Must have passed an ITI course in the relevant trade from a recognised institution

Selection Process — SECR Bilaspur Act Apprentice 2026

Selection for SECR Bilaspur Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 will be done on the basis of a Merit List. No written examination is conducted.

• Merit is calculated by taking the average of percentage marks obtained in both Matriculation (10th) and ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both
• Minimum required aggregate: 50% marks (as per Establishment Rule 201/2017)
• Candidates must fill only their 10th and ITI marks on the portal. Any higher qualification entered will cause automatic rejection.
• In case a candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR is selected against a UR post/quota, they are placed accordingly as per merit

Apprenticeship Period and Stipend

• Duration: 1 year for each trade
• Stipend: Paid during training as per the rules of the State Government of Chhattisgarh
• Training will be terminated after completion of the apprenticeship period
• Important: It is not obligatory for the employer (Railway) to offer any employment to any apprentice after completion of training. Nor is it obligatory for the apprentice to accept any employment if offered.
• Selected candidates (or their guardian if minor) will enter into a contract of apprenticeship with the employer

Medical Examination

Selected candidates may be advised to bring a medical certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed format as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and Para 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992 (as amended). The medical certificate must be signed by a Government Authorised Doctor (Gazetted), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of a Central or State Hospital.

Ex-Servicemen Reservation

Ex-Servicemen candidates selected under the 10% reservation provided for them will be placed in the appropriate category (UR/SC/ST/OBC) to which they belong. The reservation priority order is:

1. Children of deceased/disabled Ex-Servicemen including those killed/disabled during peace time
2. Children of Ex-Servicemen
3. Children of Serving Officer
4. Ex-Servicemen
5. Children of Serving Jawan
