| Descriptive Test | 50 |
The Objective Test includes General Aptitude, split into Test of Reasoning (25 questions, 25 marks) and English Language (35 questions, 35 marks), to be completed in 45 minutes; this section is only qualifying in nature. It also includes a Professional Knowledge paper of 50 questions for 50 marks, in a separate 45-minute slot, which carries the actual merit-determining marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
The Descriptive Test carries 50 marks across 5 questions (10 marks each), to be answered out of a choice of 8 questions, in 45 minutes.
Candidates must qualify in both the Objective and Descriptive Tests separately. The final merit list is prepared by combining the Written Test and Interview scores in a 70:30 weightage, and the Interview itself carries 100 marks.
