Selection Process
Selection to these stenographer posts will be made through a competitive examination consisting of a Shorthand Test in the candidate's chosen language (English or Hindi), a compulsory Computer Test, and a final interview.
Exam Pattern
| Test | Component | Duration | Speed of Dictation | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Group A: English Shorthand | Dictation of Passage | 6 Minutes | 80 words per minute | 100 |
| Transcription and Typing on Computer | 50 Minutes | - | ||

| Transcription and Typing on Computer | 50 Minutes | - | ||

Every candidate must pass the shorthand group of the post applied for and must also compulsorily pass Group C, the Computer Test. The minimum qualifying marks in the Computer Test are 20 out of 50 per paper for SC, ST and PwBD candidates, and 22.5 out of 50 per paper for all other candidates.
The font prescribed for the Computer Test is Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi and Calibri for English, and candidates must achieve a minimum typing speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour. The Efficiency Test may involve word processing tasks including formatting of text, paragraphs, pages and tables using proper methods.
Interview
Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for interview strictly in order of merit. The interview carries no marks and is meant only to ensure that the candidate is not so hesitant that they are unable to read their own handwriting. Final selection will be made subject to the interview process conducted under Rule 22 of the Rajasthan District Court Ministerial Establishment Rules, 1986.
The merit list of successful candidates is prepared on the basis of total aggregate marks obtained in the Shorthand Test and the Computer Test (Speed Test and Efficiency Test) combined. Where candidates secure equal aggregate marks, the one with higher marks in the Shorthand Test is ranked higher, and if that too is equal, the older candidate by age is given preference.
