Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification

Age Limit (as on 19.08.2026)
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 24 years as on the closing date of the online application, 19th August 2026. Age relaxation applies as follows: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates will otherwise follow Central Government rules.
Other Conditions
Candidates who have already undergone, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 in any Government, PSU, or private industrial organisation, whether partially or fully, are not eligible to apply. Each candidate may submit an online application for only one trade.
Stipend Amount
As per the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025 (Gazette Notification No. G.S.R. 610(E) dated 3rd September 2025), the stipend is fixed as follows:
- Rs. 11,040 per month for candidates who completed a two-year ITI training course.
- Rs. 10,560 per month for candidates who completed a one-year ITI training course.
Selection Procedure
There is no written examination for this recruitment. Selection is based entirely on academic merit, following this order:
- Candidates must hold a valid ITI certificate in the trade applied for.
- Shortlisting for training is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the ITI course.
- In case of a tie in ITI marks, the candidate with a higher percentage in Class 10 will rank higher (Class 8 percentage is used instead for Welder, Carpenter/Wood Work Technician, Mason/Civil Mistry, and Plumber trades).
- If there is still a tie in Class 10/Class 8 marks, the candidate born earlier (older in age) will be given preference.
The selected list for each trade will be published on the IGCAR website, and all shortlisted candidates must appear for Document Verification, failing which their candidature will be treated as cancelled.
