Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be paid a minimum basic pay of Rs. 19,990/- per month as per PSPCL financial circular no. 21/2022 dated 17.08.2022 (7th CPC Pay Matrix). During the probation period of 3 years, only minimum admissible pay will be given. No grade pay, dearness allowance, or annual increment will be paid during probation except TA and medical reimbursement as per entitlement.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized board.
• ITI certificate in Electrician Trade or Wireman Trade.
• ITI certificate must be issued by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training).
• Candidate must have passed Punjabi language at Matriculation level or equivalent.
• All qualifications must be completed on or before the last date of application submission (06 May 2026).

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 37 years (as on 01 January 2026)
• SC / BC candidates: 5 years upper age relaxation
• Physically Handicapped (PwD) candidates: 10 years upper age relaxation
• Widows / Divorced / Separated women: Upper age limit is 40 years
• Ex-Servicemen (Self): Age relaxation as per Punjab Government rules
• Serving employees of PSPCL / PSTCL / Punjab Government: Relaxation to the extent of service rendered

Examination Structure

• Exam Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
• All questions are MCQ (Multiple Choice). Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
• No negative marking.
• Part-I is a mandatory qualifying test. Minimum 50% marks (25 out of 50) required to qualify.
• Part-II minimum qualifying marks: General – 25% | Reserved Categories – 20%
• Part-II question paper is bilingual (English/Punjabi), except Punjabi language questions which are in Punjabi only.
• If exam is held in multiple shifts, normalization of marks will be applied.
• Final merit is based on marks secured in Part-II only.

How to Apply for PSPCL Assistant Lineman 2026

1. Visit the official PSPCL website at www.pspcl.in and click on the "Recruitment" tab on the homepage.
2. Click on "Recruitment for the post of Assistant Lineman against CRA 315/26" link.
3. Click on "NEW REGISTRATION" and fill in your Name, Date of Birth, Father's Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID in Part-1 of the registration form.
4. Verify the OTP received on your registered mobile number and email ID to complete Part-2 of the registration.
5. Fill in all required details including educational qualifications, category, and reservation details. Upload scanned photograph (JPG/JPEG, 20KB–50KB) and signature (JPG/JPEG, 10KB–20KB).
6. Review the complete form using "Save and Preview" and then click "Submit". Once submitted, details cannot be edited.
7. After submission, pay the application fee online through the SBI Payment Gateway using Internet Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
8. After successful fee payment, download and print the application form. Keep a copy along with the payment receipt for future reference.

Admit Card

PSPCL will upload the Admit Card for the online test on its official website www.pspcl.in. The preliminary admit card (without exam center) will be published at least 7 days before the exam date. The final admit card with exam center details will be available at least 3 days before the exam. Candidates must bring a printed copy of the Admit Card along with a valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, Driving License, or Passport) to the exam center.

Result and Merit List

After the online exam, the question paper and answer key will be published on the PSPCL website. Candidates can raise objections within the notified period. The final merit list will be prepared after review by the expert committee. If multiple candidates score equal marks in Part-II, preference will be given to the older candidate. For Sports Person category, the merit list is prepared by the Office of Director/Sports, Punjab based on the Sports Gradation Policy. Candidates shortlisted on merit will be called for document checking. Selection panel validity is one year from the date of approval of the first selection panel.
