Educational Qualification

• DTE (Diploma Trainee Electrical): Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Electrical / Electrical (Power) / Electrical and Electronics / Power Systems / Power Engineering (Electrical) from a recognized Technical Board/Institute. Minimum 70% for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS; pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD. B.Tech/BE/M.Tech holders are not eligible.
• DTC (Diploma Trainee Civil): Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Technical Board/Institute. Minimum 70% for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS; pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD. B.Tech/BE/M.Tech holders are not eligible.
• DTS (Diploma Trainee Survey): Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Survey Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering (with Survey as a subject) from a recognized institution. Minimum 70% marks. B.E./B.Tech holders not eligible.
• JOT (HR): Three-year full-time regular Bachelor's degree – BBA / BBM / BBS or equivalent from a recognized Institute/University. Minimum 60% for General/EWS/OBC(NCL). Postgraduate degree/diploma holders are not eligible.
• JOT (F&A): Inter CA or Inter CMA. Candidates with CA/CMA/Postgraduate degree are not eligible.
• JTT (Survey): Full-time regular 2-year ITI (Surveyor) from a recognized Technical Board/Institute approved by NCVET/SCVT. Diploma/B.Tech holders are not eligible.

Final year/semester students expecting results by 15 July 2026 may apply provisionally. Marks will not be rounded off for eligibility determination.

Pay Scale & Training Details

• DTE / DTC / DTS / JOT (HR) / JOT (F&A) – During Training: Basic Pay Rs. 24,000/- per month in pay scale Rs. 24000-3%-108000/- (IDA) at S0 level, plus IDA, HRA, and Perks @ 12%.
• After Training Completion: Absorbed as Junior Engineer Gr-IV / Junior Officer Gr-IV at S1 level. Pay scale: Rs. 25000-3%-117500/- (IDA). Annual CTC approx. Rs. 12.7 Lakhs.
• JTT (Survey) – During Training: Basic Pay Rs. 21,000/- per month in pay scale Rs. 21000-3%-72000/- (IDA) at W2 level.
• After Training Completion: Absorbed as Junior Technician at W3 level. Pay scale: Rs. 21500-3%-74000/- (IDA). Annual CTC approx. Rs. 10.9 Lakhs.

Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates must serve for a minimum of 3 years after successful training completion.

Selection Process

• DTE / DTC / DTS: Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100% weightage
• JOT (HR) / JOT (F&A): CBT (100% weightage) followed by Computer Skill Test (CST) – qualifying in nature
• JTT (Survey): CBT (100% weightage) followed by Trade Test – qualifying in nature
• Pre-Employment Medical Examination as per POWERGRID norms

Examination Structure

• Test Duration: 2 hours (compensatory time for PwBD as per GOI norms)
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark deducted per wrong answer
• Part-II covers English vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, data interpretation, and General Awareness

How to Apply for PGCIL Recruitment 2026

1. Visit the official POWERGRID website at www.powergrid.in and go to Career Section → Job Opportunities → Non-Executive Positions → "Recruitment of Non-Executive Posts 2026".
2. Register with a valid personal Email ID, Alternate Email ID, and Mobile Number. These are mandatory for all future correspondence and candidate login access.
3. Read the full advertisement carefully and select only one Region/CTUIL before filling the online application form. Region selection cannot be changed after submission.
4. Fill in the online application form with correct personal, educational, and category details. Candidates must not possess higher qualifications as restricted in the advertisement.
5. Upload all required documents – passport size photograph, signature, Date of Birth proof, qualification certificates with mark sheets, and category/caste certificates (if applicable) in prescribed size and format.
6. Pay the applicable application fee online through the POWERGRID payment gateway (General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 300/- for DTE/DTC/DTS/JOT posts; Rs. 200/- for JTT Survey). SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM are exempted.
7. Submit the application form before 11 May 2026 (11:59 PM) and take a printout of the submitted application for future reference and Document Verification.

Admit Card

Candidates can download their Admit Card through the POWERGRID online application portal. Admit Cards will not be sent by post. Candidates must carry their Admit Card along with an original Photo ID Proof to the CBT exam centre. The Admit Card download link and exam date will be announced on the official website.

Result and Merit List

Final merit for DTE, DTC, and DTS posts will be based on marks secured in CBT (100% weightage). For JOT (HR), JOT (F&A), and JTT (Survey), final merit is based on CBT marks, subject to qualifying in CST/Trade Test. In case of a tie in marks, candidates will be ranked by date of birth — the eldest candidate ranks higher. The Cut Off, Answer Key, and Merit List will be published on the official POWERGRID website after the selection process is complete.
