Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Regular/Full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University or Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority.
- Minimum 60% marks in aggregate is required.
- SC, ST & PwBD candidates with passing marks are also eligible to apply.
- Final year or semester students who expect their result by 31.07.2026 may also apply. However, they must be able to produce the final marksheet/provisional degree/course completion certificate with applicable marks criteria on or before 31.07.2026.

Pay Scale / Compensation Package
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 30,000 - 1,20,000 at the basic pay of Rs. 30,000 (E0 Grade). In addition to this, benefits such as Dearness Allowance, other perquisites and allowances, and terminal benefits will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training and after absorption.
Selection Process - NTPC ACT Examination 2026
The selection process for NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee consists of:
- Eligible candidates will appear for an All India based Online Selection Test.
- Based on category-wise merit and number of vacancies, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification and further selection process.
- The Online Selection Test consists of two parts:
- Part 1 - Subject Knowledge Test
- Part 2 - Executive Aptitude Test
- Candidates must qualify separately in both parts.
Health / Medical Standards
Before joining, candidates will have to undergo a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board/Officer. Their decision will be final and binding. Placement & Service Bond
The selected candidates will undergo one-year training at various places. The final posting will be decided after completion of training and may be at any of the Stations, Projects, JVs, or Subsidiaries of NTPC. All posts are transferable at the sole discretion of the Management.
The selected candidates from General, EWS, and OBC categories will be required to execute a service bond of Rs. 2,50,000. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories must execute a bond of Rs. 1,25,000 to serve the company for at least 3 years after successful completion of one-year training.
