Selection Process

Selection for IOCL Executive posts is made through three stages: the Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT), and finally the Personal Interview (PI). Candidates must qualify individually in every stage and also achieve the minimum composite score, which combines weighted marks from all three components.

The CBT carries 100 objective-type questions for one mark each, with 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer. Section A is followed by Section B, and PwBD candidates who are permitted a scribe receive extended compensatory time. To qualify, General, EWS and OBC(NCL) candidates need 40 percent in each section and 45 percent overall; SC and ST candidates need 35 percent in each section and 40 percent overall; and PwBD candidates need 25 percent in each section and 30 percent overall.
