About AAI Northern Region Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Airports Authority of India was formed by an Act of Parliament in 1995 and is responsible for creating, upgrading and managing civil aviation infrastructure across the country. The Regional Headquarters (Northern Region) is now inviting applications for a one-year Apprenticeship Training Program at various airports in the Northern Region, including Amritsar, Agra, Bareilly, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Srinagar, Shimla, Varanasi and several others, along with various offices in New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
For Graduate and Diploma posts, candidates must hold a full-time (regular) four-year Degree or a three-year (regular) Diploma in Engineering in the relevant stream, recognized by AICTE. For Trade (ITI) posts, candidates must hold an ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognized by AICTE.
Domicile Requirement
Only Indian nationals who are domiciles of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are eligible to apply.
Other Conditions
- Candidates must have passed their degree/diploma in 2024 or after 2024.
- Candidates who have already completed or discontinued an apprenticeship, or are currently pursuing one elsewhere or in AAI at the same qualification level, are not eligible.
- Candidates who have 1 year or more of apprenticeship training or job experience after attaining the essential qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates applying for more than one discipline will not be considered, and such applications will be rejected.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 26 years as on 16.09.2026. Age relaxation in the upper limit is applicable for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD categories as per Government of India guidelines.
Selection Process
- Provisional selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, with date of birth (and subsequently date of passing) used as the tiebreaker for equal marks.
- CGPA is converted into percentage as per the norms of the concerned Educational Board/University.
- Eligible candidates are called for document verification through their registered email IDs only.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for interview and document verification, also through their registered email IDs.
- Final selection is based on interview, verification of certificates, and submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining.
- Selected candidates are posted preferably at locations in the Northern Region based on their registration location on the portal.

- Complete e-KYC and Profile: Complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification and fill in your basic, educational and communication details to complete your profile on the portal.
- Search for the Establishment: Search for the establishment Airports Authority of India, RHQ NR, New Delhi using establishment code NDLSWC000002 on NATS or E05200700101 on NAPS.
- Apply to the Apprenticeship Opportunity: Click on the apply button against the AAI Northern Region apprenticeship opportunity. After successful submission, you will see a confirmation message that your application has been received.
- Await Document Verification: Eligible candidates will be intimated about document verification and interview through their registered email ID, and final selection will depend on submission of a medical fitness certificate at the time of joining.

General Rules
- During the apprenticeship, candidates are governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended in 1973 and till date) and AAI's applicable policies and rules.
- Reservation for SC/ST, OBC and EWS will be followed as applicable; in case of non-availability of candidates in a reserved category, the seat may be filled from other reserved or general categories.
- AAI has no obligation to offer regular employment to apprentices, and this training does not create any liability on AAI to provide a job.
- No TA/DA is provided to applicants for attending the interview.
- The number of apprentices to be engaged is indicative and may change without further notification.
- The allocated Airport/Station/Unit for training will be final, and no change of training location will be entertained later.
- After 12 months, the Apprenticeship Contract automatically ceases; any act of indiscipline during training may lead to cancellation of the contract.
