Educational Qualification
For Medical Candidates (Essential):
- A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- A postgraduate qualification: MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) or a recognized equivalent qualification in the respective or allied discipline.
For Non-Medical Candidates (Essential):
- A Masters degree in the concerned subject or allied discipline.
- A Doctorate degree (PhD) from a recognized university in the respective subject or allied discipline.
Note: The respective subject or allied discipline should be as per Table-I of Schedule I of the MCI "Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998".
Experience
Candidates must fulfill one of the following experience conditions:
- Option A: Four years of teaching experience as a Reader or Associate Professor in a recognized medical college in the concerned specialty.
- Option B: Three years of teaching experience as Associate Professor in a recognized medical college with a minimum of four research publications in indexed or national journals, with at least two publications during the tenure as Associate Professor.
Note: Teaching experience in posts such as General Duty Medical Officer shall not be considered for eligibility. Experience must be recognized by NMC or the relevant statutory body as valid teaching experience.

Selection Process - ESIC Teaching Faculty 2026
The selection for ESIC Professor Recruitment 2026 will be made on the basis of an Interview conducted by the ESIC Selection Board.
