Women get 35 percent horizontal reservation in every category, and this benefit is available only to women who are original residents of Bihar state. A 2 percent horizontal reservation is also available for grandchildren of freedom fighters who receive central government pension, and this applies to about 3 posts within the total 150 vacancies.

Candidates must hold a graduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university as on 1 August 2025.

Paper 2 is a subjective descriptive paper of 50 marks, to be completed in 1 hour. Candidates must score at least 30 percent in both papers of the main exam. Based on main exam marks, 3 times the number of vacancies will be selected category wise for the Physical Standard Test.

Merit List 2026

The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the main written exam, category wise. In case of a tie in marks, preference will go to the older candidate by date of birth, then by higher educational qualification, and finally by the Hindi alphabetical order of the candidate name as per the matric certificate.
