Army 10+2 TES 57th Online Form 2026: Apply for 90 Seats in the July 2027 Course
The Indian Army has opened the Army 10+2 TES 57th online form 2026 for unmarried male candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 and appeared in JEE Main 2026. Unlike most government recruitments, this is a cadet entry: selected candidates train for four years, earn an engineering degree and are then commissioned as Lieutenants in the Army on a Permanent Commission. The online window runs from 14 October 2026 to 12 November 2026, so there are still a few weeks left to prepare documents and apply.

Who Can Apply
Education and JEE Main Condition
You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, scoring at least 60% aggregate in these three subjects. The PCM percentage is calculated only from Class 12 marks. On top of that, appearing in JEE Main 2026 is mandatory. Revised mark sheets issued by a board or university after the last date for online applications will not be accepted.
Age Limit
The age is counted on 1 July 2027, the first day of the month in which the course begins. A candidate should be at least 16.5 years and not more than 19.5 years old on that date. In birth-date terms, you must not be born before 1 January 2008 and not after 1 January 2011, with both dates included. Only the date of birth printed on the Class 10 certificate is accepted, and once a date of birth is entered in the records it cannot be changed on any ground.
Nationality and Marital Status
Only unmarried males can apply. A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or the listed East African countries, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of settling permanently in India. Candidates in the Nepal and migrant categories need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India, except Gorkha subjects of Nepal. Such candidates may be admitted provisionally if they obtain the certificate before the SSB result or joining.
Every candidate must undertake not to marry until the full training is over. A candidate who marries after applying will not be selected, and one who marries during training will be discharged and must refund the government expenditure on his training.
Conditions That Can Cancel a Candidature
- Being debarred from any UPSC examination.
- Having been arrested, convicted by a criminal court or involved in any court case.
- Having been withdrawn from NDA, OTA, IMA, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or any service training academy on disciplinary grounds.
- Submitting more than one application, or giving false or concealed information at any stage.
Vacancies and Where You Will Train
The notification mentions 90 vacancies. The number is provisional and can change with training capacity at the Cadets Training Wings and the Army's organizational needs. After SSB, recommended candidates must fill three choices of Cadets Training Wing. All three choices are compulsory, none can repeat, and they cannot be changed later. Filling a choice does not guarantee that wing, because the Army makes the final allocation.
| Cadets Training Wing | Engineering Stream | Parent Arm or Service |
|---|---|---|
| CTW, CME Pune | Civil and Mechanical Engineering | Corps of Engineers |
| CTW, MCTE Mhow | Telecom and IT Engineering (dual degree) | Corps of Signals |
| CTW, MCEME Secunderabad | Electronics and Mechanical Engineering | Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers |
Training runs for four years: three years of integrated basic military and engineering training at the chosen wing, followed by one year at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Cadets receive an engineering degree on completion, but no ante-dated seniority is given for it. A maximum of two relegations on academic grounds is allowed during the four years, and any further relegation leads to withdrawal from training. Final selection also remains provisional until civil, police and education authorities verify the candidate's antecedents.
Selection Process Step by Step
Shortlisting
The Integrated HQ of the Ministry of Defence (Army) screens applications and fixes a cut-off based on the JEE Main Common Rank List and other laid-down parameters, without giving reasons. Incomplete applications are rejected outright and no individual intimation is sent. Shortlisted candidates log in to the website and pick an SSB centre and date on a first come, first served basis. Once chosen, these cannot be changed by the candidate.
SSB Interview
The Services Selection Board is held at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar and lasts five days. It has two stages: those who clear Stage I move to Stage II, while those who do not are sent back the same day. The call-up letter reaches you only on your registered e-mail ID and by SMS. For a first-time attempt at this type of commission, the notification provides AC 3-tier rail fare or bus fare for travel within India.
Medical Examination
Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination at the nearest Military Hospital. The notification does not list medical standards and refers candidates to the official website. Medical board proceedings are confidential.
Merit List and Joining Letter
The merit list is built only on SSB marks. Higher qualifications, past performance or NCC background do not count. Joining letters go out in merit order to candidates who are recommended and medically fit, subject to vacancies. A candidate who does not report within 7 days of the allotted reporting date can lose the seat to the next candidate in merit.
If You Also Applied for NDA
Candidates applying for both TES and the NDA and NA course need to take a medical only for the entry in which they are recommended first. A candidate declared unfit in either entry is treated as unfit for both, and hiding any earlier medical information leads to cancellation.
Physical Standards on Arrival at Training
There is no separate physical test during the application stage. However, candidates who receive joining letters are expected to meet these minimum standards when they arrive for training.
| Activity | Minimum Standard |
|---|---|
| 2.4 km run | 10 minutes 30 seconds |
| Push ups | 40 |
| Pull ups | 6 |
| Sit ups | 30 |
| Squats | Two sets of 30 repetitions |
| Lunges | Two sets of 10 repetitions |
| Swimming | Should know the fundamentals |
The notification also refers readers to the official website for the permanent body tattoo policy.
Pay, Stipend and Career Growth
During the first three years of training, cadets do not receive a stipend. A fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month starts after three years of training are completed. On commissioning, pay is fixed at the first cell of Level 10 in the pay matrix, and the training period is not counted as commissioned service. The highlights table puts the cost to company at roughly Rs. 17 to 18 lakh per year at the Level 10 stage, excluding free medical cover and an annual journey to the home town.
| Rank | Pay Level | Pay Scale (Rs.) | Promotion Criterion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lieutenant | Level 10 | 56,100 - 1,77,500 | On commission |
| Captain | Level 10B | 61,300 - 1,93,900 | 2 years of reckonable service |
| Major | Level 11 | 69,400 - 2,07,200 | 6 years of reckonable service |
| Lieutenant Colonel | Level 12A | 1,21,200 - 2,12,400 | 13 years of reckonable service |
| Colonel (Time Scale) | Level 13 | 1,30,600 - 2,15,900 | 26 years of reckonable service |
Officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier also draw Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500 per month. Other benefits listed include dearness allowance, a dress allowance of Rs. 20,000 per year, transport allowance, children education allowance, hostel subsidy and ration in kind. Field area and risk and hardship allowances apply only to those who meet the specific posting conditions, and the notification says pay and allowances are subject to revision.
Insurance and Cost of Training
Cadets who are not receiving a stipend are covered for Rs. 30 lakh under the Army Group Insurance Fund against a one-time, non-refundable premium of Rs. 14,000. Once the stipend starts, cadets are insured for Rs. 1.25 crore and pay a monthly subscription of Rs. 12,500. The cost of training, Rs. 13,940 per week as on 2021, is borne by the State but is recovered from candidates who withdraw or resign voluntarily for personal reasons.
Documents to Carry to the SSB
Do not post anything to the recruiting directorate. Keep these ready for the selection centre:
- Two printed copies of the application with roll number, one of them self-attested.
- Original Class 10 certificate and mark sheet showing date of birth. Admit card, transfer certificate and leaving certificate are not accepted as proof of date of birth.
- Original Class 12 pass certificate and mark sheet.

If a school or college issues only e-certificates, you need a letter from the Principal or Registrar saying so, along with a coloured printout of the e-certificate authenticated by the institution. Employed candidates must give their employment details and an undertaking that they have informed their employer in writing.
