Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidate must hold a Degree from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India, or from an institution established by an Act of Parliament, or declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
- Equivalent qualifications declared by the Government are also acceptable.
- Candidates must possess the required qualification on the date of submission of application.
- Candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official or tribal languages of Assam.
- Candidate must be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.
- Candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 38 years (as on 01.01.2025)
- Age relaxation for SC/STP/STH candidates: 5 years (up to 43 years)
- Age relaxation for OBC/MOBC candidates: 3 years (up to 41 years)
- Age relaxation for PwBD candidates: 10 years (irrespective of SC/ST/OBC/General category)
- Age is calculated based on Matriculation/HSLC/HSSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate/Marksheet only.

- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Selection Process
- Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type – Screening Test only)
- Stage 2: Main Examination (Written Examination – Conventional Essay Type)
- Stage 3: Interview / Personality Test
- Final merit is determined on the basis of marks in Main Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test combined.
- Candidates are allotted posts based on merit cum preference.

Candidates may write answers in English or Assamese language. For the Main Examination, 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies per category will be called based on Prelim results. The Interview/Personality Test is conducted in a ratio of 1:3 against advertised vacancies.
Exam Centres
- Preliminary Examination centres are located across Assam including Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Nagaon, Barpeta, Kokrajhar and many more districts.
- Main Examination will be held at Guwahati centre only.
- Exact exam dates for both Preliminary and Main Examination will be notified in due course.

Admit Card
The e-Admission Certificate (Admit Card) for APSC CCE Preliminary Examination 2026 will be uploaded on the Commission's official website www.apsc.nic.in. It will contain the candidate's Roll Number, Venue and Programme of the Examination. Candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof (Pan Card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving Licence, Bank Passbook with photo, or ID Card from a Govt./Educational Institution) to the exam hall. The issue of an e-Admission Certificate does not guarantee final clearance of eligibility — it remains provisional.
How to Apply for APSC CCE 2025
- Visit the official APSC recruitment website at apscrecruitment.in.
- If not already registered, click on the 'Register Here' link and complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process by providing your basic details, a valid email address and mobile number.
- After OTR registration, log in using your registered email/mobile number and password.
- Fill in all required details in the Online Application Form carefully. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
- Upload the required documents in PDF format: Age proof certificate, Graduation/Degree certificate, Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable), PwBD Certificate (if applicable), BPL Certificate (if applicable), Small Family Norms declaration in Form-A, and Employment Exchange Registration Card.
- Upload a recent photograph (50 KB – 200 KB, not older than 3 months) and Signature (50 KB – 200 KB).
- Use the Preview option to carefully check all uploaded documents and form details before final submission. No editing is allowed after final submission.
- Click 'Proceed to Pay' and pay the prescribed application fee online. Fee once paid is non-refundable.
- After successful payment, an auto-generated confirmation email/SMS will be sent to your registered email ID/Mobile No.
- Take a printout of the submitted Online Application Form and retain the hard copy for future reference.
