Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

An applicant must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from certain specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to producing an eligibility certificate where applicable.

Educational Qualification and Experience

Each of the 127 named posts carries its own combination of educational qualification, mandatory certification (where applicable), and post-qualification work experience, ranging from a graduate degree with no experience conditions for junior General Banking roles to 15 years of experience with senior leadership exposure for Scale VI technology and infrastructure posts. Only full-time experience as a full-time employee, gained after acquiring the minimum notified qualification, is counted, and appointment letters, salary certificates, or pay slips are not accepted in place of a proper experience certificate. Candidates should refer to the post code applicable to them in the official notification for the exact qualification, certification, and experience required.

One Post, One Application

A candidate can apply for only one post in this recruitment. If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the last valid and complete application is retained, and multiple appearances for a single post in an interview will lead to summary rejection.

Age Limit and Relaxation

Age limits differ by post and scale, ranging from a minimum of 22 years for several Scale II posts up to a maximum of 50 years for some Scale VI posts. The cut-off date for age eligibility is 1 July 2026. The following relaxations in upper age limit apply.

SC, ST, and OBC applicants can combine their category relaxation with only one of the other relaxation categories listed above. There is no reservation for ex-servicemen in these officer-cadre vacancies.

Selection Process

Posts up to Scale III may go through an Online Examination, Group Discussion (if required), and a Personal Interview, depending on the number of applicants. Posts in Scale IV, V, and VI may skip the written exam and move straight to Group Discussion, another assessment, or a Personal Interview, at the Bank's discretion.

The Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and English Language sections are qualifying in nature, and marks scored there are not counted toward the final merit list; only Professional Knowledge marks count for merit ranking among these three sections. There is a penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer, while unattempted questions carry no penalty. The minimum qualifying mark in each section is 40 percent for General and EWS candidates and 35 percent for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates, subject to the Bank's discretion to change this.

Where a Group Discussion or Personal Interview is held, only candidates meeting the minimum qualifying marks are called. The Personal Interview carries 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 50 for General and EWS candidates and 45 for reserved category candidates. Candidates are typically called for interview in a ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies. Final selection is based on the aggregate marks in whichever combination of Online Examination, Group Discussion, other assessment, and Personal Interview was actually conducted for that post, prepared in descending order category-wise.

Probation and Service Indemnity Bond

Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years of active service from the date of joining. Those selected for posts G01 to G19 must execute a Service Indemnity Bond to serve the Bank for a minimum of 3 years, or pay Rs. 2,00,000 plus applicable taxes if they leave early. Those selected for posts S01 to S108 must serve a minimum of 3 years, or pay Rs. 2,50,000 plus applicable taxes if they leave before completing this period.

General Rules

• Candidates must fulfil all notified eligibility criteria, as the Bank only verifies documents at a later stage and not before the exam or interview call.
