PwBD and ESM columns represent horizontal reservation, adjusted within the vertical categories. As per Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and CIL guidelines, the post of Mining Sirdar is not identified as suitable for PwBD candidates, so no PwBD reservation applies to that post. For Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical)/Electrical Supervisor, candidates with Hard of Hearing, One Arm, One Leg, Both Legs, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim, Specific Learning Disability or related Multiple Disabilities are eligible under the PwBD category, subject to the physical requirements of the post. Candidates holding higher statutory competency certificates issued by DGMS, or other equivalent qualifications approved by the Central Government, are also eligible to apply. Degrees, diplomas or postgraduate qualifications obtained through distance learning or part-time mode are not accepted. Since the notified vacancies cover both UG and OC mines, candidates holding only a restricted competency certificate are not eligible.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years and the upper age limit is 30 years for UR and EWS candidates, both reckoned as on the cut-off date of 10.08.2026. Age relaxation applicable to reserved categories is given below.

Pay Scale and Training Period
Selected candidates for both posts will draw an initial basic pay of Rs. 47,330.25 per month as per the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) XI, in addition to Dearness Allowance, attendance bonus, special allowance, HRA, transport subsidy, medical facility and other admissible benefits. Mining Sirdar appointees undergo a 6-month probation period in T&S Grade-C, while Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical)/Electrical Supervisor appointees undergo 2 years of training in T&S Grade-C before further career progression as per WCL's cadre schemes.

The application fee has to be paid only through the online mode while filling the form, and it is non-refundable under any circumstances. Any bank charges or taxes over and above the prescribed fee are to be borne by the candidate.
Selection Process
Selection will be made purely on the basis of a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks, split into Part 1 General Aptitude (20 questions) and Part 2 Technical (80 questions), to be completed in 90 minutes. The paper will be bilingual, in English and Hindi, with the English version being treated as final in case of any discrepancy. There is no negative marking, and no marks are given for unattempted questions.

Candidates who clear the CBT will be shortlisted for document verification in the ratio of three times the number of vacancies in each category, based on merit. A provisional offer of appointment will be issued according to the final merit position and category-wise vacancy availability, subject to fitness in the initial medical examination.
Syllabus
Part 1 of the CBT is common for both posts and covers General English, comprehension, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, and general awareness on national and coal industry issues. Part 2 is post-specific: for Mining Sirdar it covers subjects such as explosives and blasting practice, board and pillar and depillaring methods, strata support, mine ventilation and gases, mine fires and rescue, mine surveying, opencast working, and provisions of the Mines Act 1952 and Coal Mines Regulations 2017. For Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical)/Electrical Supervisor, Part 2 covers basics of electrical engineering, electrical machinery operation and maintenance, switchgear and protective devices, earthing systems, sub-station design and safety, overhead lines and underground cables, and relevant legislation including the Electricity Act 2003.
