Who Can Apply

Educational Qualification

• 10+2 in Science from a recognized Board of School Education or University.
• B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiology and Imaging), or any of the equivalent radiography, radiation technology or medical imaging degrees named in the notification, from a recognized university.
• Registration with the Himachal Pradesh Para Medical Council, Shimla (presently State Allied Health Care Council, HP).
• Desirable: knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.

Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school or institution in Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Age Limit

The age limit is 18 to 45 years as on 01-01-2026. SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates who are Himachal domiciles, Himachal government employees and ex-servicemen of Himachal get up to five years of relaxation.

OBC (NCL), BPL, EWS and Ward of Freedom Fighters certificates must be valid on 07.12.2026 and at document verification.

Application Fee

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection starts with a Computer Based Test or written screening test of 120 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, in 1 1/2 hours. HPRCA may use OMR instead of CBT and can change the pattern. Shortlisted candidates then go through document verification.

• Syllabus: subject questions up to the level of the essential qualification, plus General Knowledge including Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi of Matric standard.
• Qualifying marks: 45 percent for General and 40 percent for SC, ST, OBC and Wards of Freedom Fighters. HPRCA may relax these by up to 5 percent.
• Waiting list: a category-wise list is valid for one year from the date of recommendation.

How to Apply

Keep a photograph (not older than one month) and signature ready, each in JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 1 MB. OTR registration is required before filling the ORA.

1. Sign Up on the HPRCA portal to create a username and password.
2. Complete the One-Time Registration with personal, educational and work details, photograph, signature and documents.
3. Complete or update your profile, as only complete profiles can apply.
4. Click Apply against Radiographer (Job Trainee), post code 26061, on the HPRCA portal.
5. Select your preferred exam districts. HPRCA may allot any centre.
6. Review the details filled in automatically from your profile.
7. Pay the fee of Rs. 800 through the online payment gateway.
8. Confirm the submission. The application is complete only after successful payment.

Documents and Rules to Remember

• Keep ready the Matriculation certificate, degree and mark sheets, and caste or BPL certificates if applicable.
• Only one application per post is allowed.
• Bring the printed form, originals and self-attested copies to document verification.
• Admit cards are not posted; download them from the website.
