Horizontal reservation for women applies within each discipline, ranging from 6 posts in Agricultural Engineering down to a single post in several smaller disciplines. Eligibility Criteria

This Mains examination is open only to candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) conducted by UPSSSC and have received a PET-2025 score card. Shortlisting for the Mains exam is done category-wise based on the normalized PET-2025 score, and candidates with a zero, negative, or missing normalized or absolute score in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted. Candidates whose PET-2025 result is currently under investigation or marked provisional may apply, but their shortlisting and selection will remain subject to the outcome of that review.

Preferential qualifications such as prior training or work experience, service in the Territorial Army, or an NCC B certificate give an advantage among otherwise equally placed candidates for several disciplines. Age Limit

For all 13 disciplines, candidates must have completed 21 years of age and must not have crossed 40 years of age as on the first of July of the calendar year in which the post is advertised or notified. Age relaxation beyond the upper limit is available to candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other categories notified by the Uttar Pradesh government from time to time, to the extent specified in the applicable rules. Candidates already serving in Uttar Pradesh state government service get a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit as per government order.

Pay Scale

All 132 posts across the 13 disciplines carry the same pay structure: Level-6 of the pay matrix, with a minimum pay of Rupees 35,400 and a maximum pay of Rupees 1,12,400 per month.

Selection Process

Selection to these Senior Instructor posts is based purely on a written Main Examination. There is no interview. The exam consists of one objective type, multiple choice question paper of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed within two hours. Each wrong answer attracts negative marking equal to one-fourth, that is 25 percent, of the marks fixed for that question.

The total time allowed for the examination is two hours, that is 120 minutes. If the exam is held across more than one shift or day, scores will be normalized following the Commission's published normalization procedure to allow fair comparison between candidates.

  6. View your photo and signature carried forward from PET-2025, since these cannot be changed at this stage, and click Continue.
  7. Fill in preferential qualification details if applicable, verify your correspondence address, and complete the declaration.

Applications submitted through any medium other than the Commission's official online system will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to recheck every entry before final submission, since a submitted application cannot be edited except during the correction window ending October 12, 2026, and even then only for a limited set of fields.

General Rules

  • Only one application can be submitted for the advertised posts. If a candidate submits more than one application, only the last submitted one will be accepted, and the rest will be treated as cancelled.
  • Reservation benefits are available only to candidates who are original residents of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who are not domiciled in Uttar Pradesh will be treated as belonging to the unreserved category.
  • For women candidates, only a caste certificate issued on the basis of the father's caste will be accepted.
  • Corrections to the submitted application are allowed only until October 12, 2026, and only for specific fields. The correspondence address, EWS or horizontal reservation category, mandatory or preferential qualification details already submitted, and marital status cannot be changed after final submission.
  • The Commission's decision on a candidate's eligibility is final. Furnishing incorrect information, or facts that cannot be verified from supporting certificates, can lead to rejection of candidature and debarment from this and future examinations conducted by the Commission.
