Within the 1248 general posts, horizontal reservation is also provided, comprising 24 posts for dependents of freedom fighters, 249 posts for women, 62 posts for ex-servicemen and military-relieved candidates, 24 posts for outstanding sportspersons, and reservation for persons with disabilities across categories such as low vision, hard of hearing, dwarfism, and acid attack victims. Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must fulfil the following mandatory educational qualification to be eligible for the post of Livestock Extension Officer, as per the Uttar Pradesh Pashupalan Vibhag, Pashudhan Prasar evam Kukkut Vikas Seva Niyamawali, 2002.

  • Intermediate examination with the Biology group from the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, or an examination recognised by the government as equivalent to 10+2.
  • A two year Pashudhan Prasar (Livestock Extension) Diploma course from a veterinary university or veterinary college established by law.
  • Knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.

In addition, only those candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and were issued a normalized score card by the Commission are eligible to apply. Candidates whose actual or normalized PET-2025 score is zero or negative will not be shortlisted for this Main Examination.

Preferential Qualification

Where other qualifications are equal, preference in the mains selection may be given to a candidate who fulfils any one of the following.

  • Minimum two years of service in the Territorial Army, or
  • Possession of a National Cadet Corps 'B' certificate, or
  • Fifteen years of continuous active service as a Veterinary Dresser Grade-1 or Grade-2 in the Remount Veterinary Corps, along with a High School pass with Science or Agriculture as a subject, or an equivalent recognised examination.

Age Limit

A candidate must have attained 21 years of age and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on the first of July of the calendar year in which the vacancies were advertised, that is, 1 July 2026. Age relaxation for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, and other categories notified by the Uttar Pradesh government from time to time will apply as per prevailing rules.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-5, with a pay band of Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month, in addition to other allowances admissible under Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Dependents of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen, women, persons with disabilities, and outstanding sportspersons will pay the fee applicable to their original category as listed above. This Rs 25 fee covers registration and online processing for the Main Examination application only. The separate written examination fee for the Main Examination will be charged only to those candidates who are shortlisted, and must be paid before downloading the Main Examination admit card.

Selection Process

Selection to the post of Livestock Extension Officer will be made on the basis of a written examination, in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Group 'C' Posts Direct Recruitment (Procedure and Process) Rules, 2015, and the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Discontinuation of Interview) Rules, 2017, following the two-tier examination system adopted by the Commission. Under this system, only candidates who appeared in the Commission's Preliminary Eligibility Test can apply for the corresponding Main Examination. Shortlisting for this Main Examination is based on the normalized PET-2025 score, and category-wise, candidates up to 15 times the number of advertised posts are shortlisted, subject to the final cutoff score.

Exam Pattern

The written examination will consist of a single paper with 100 objective type, multiple choice questions worth 100 marks, to be completed within a time of two hours (120 minutes). Each question carries one mark, and one fourth (25 percent) of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.
