Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) examination from the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh or any equivalent exam recognized by the government. This is the mandatory (essential) educational qualification as per UP Aabkari Sipahi, Driver and Tadi Paryavekshak Service Rules, 1983 (as amended).

Additional Preference (Adhimani Qualification): Under Rule 9 of the same service rules, preference will be given to candidates who either served in the Pradeshik Sena (Territorial Army) for at least two years OR have obtained the NCC 'B' Certificate.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years (as of 1 July of the recruitment year)
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwD (Divyang), Ex-Servicemen, Women, and other reserved categories as per UP government orders.
  • Government employees currently serving in UP state services get an upper age relaxation of 5 years.
  • Candidates covered under the Chief Minister Fellowship scheme are also eligible for age relaxation as notified vide UP Shasan order dated 30 January 2026.

PET Eligibility Condition

This is a Main Examination. Only those candidates who participated in PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025) and have a valid score card issued by UPSSSC are eligible to apply. Candidates who scored zero or negative marks in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted.

Reservation Policy

  • SC/ST/OBC: Reservation as per UP government's latest shaskanadeshs and reservation acts.
  • EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 10% reservation for candidates whose family income from all sources is less than Rs 8 lakh per year. EWS certificate must be issued between 01-04-2026 and 24-06-2026, valid for financial year 2025-26 and 2026-27.
  • Divyang (PwD): 4% horizontal reservation distributed across groups (A, B, C, D) as per UP government's re-designated post orders. Candidates must update disability category and sub-category in their application form.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Reservation as per UP Lok Sewa (Reservation for Physically Disabled, Dependants of Freedom Fighters and Ex-Servicemen) Act, 1993.
  • Women: Reservation as per UP Shasan Karmic Anubhag orders.

Selection Process

The selection for UPSSSC Excise Constable 2026 follows a two-stage process:

  1. Stage 1 — Written Main Examination (Likhit Pariksha): Shortlisting for the main exam is done based on PET-2025 normalised score (merit). Candidates equal to 15 times the category-wise vacancies (rounded to 2 decimal normalised score) will be shortlisted for the main exam.
  2. Stage 2 — Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates shortlisted from the main exam on the basis of their written exam marks will be called for Physical Standards Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Male Candidates: Must complete a 4.8 km run within 25 minutes.
  • Female Candidates: Must complete a 2.4 km run within 14 minutes.

  3. Log in using your PET-2025 Registration Number. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number or email ID for authentication.
  4. Verify your pre-filled personal information (name, father/mother name, date of birth, category, EWS details, etc.) from your PET-2025 data.
  5. Fill in the mandatory educational qualification details — select Yes/No for holding the required Class 12 qualification and provide board name, passing year, certificate number and marks.
  6. Under 'Other Details', select the post preference and mention any additional (adhimani) qualification if applicable.
  7. Enter the verification code shown on screen and click Submit. Your application form with an 11-digit registration number will be generated. Take a printout and keep it safe.

Important Rules for Candidates
