Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

As per Uttar Pradesh Ganna Paryavekshak (Group-III) Service Rules, 1979 (as amended), candidates must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science from a University established by law in India.
• CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) certificate issued by DOEACC Society (NIELIT).

Important: Both qualifications must be obtained before the application closing date of 28 July 2026.

Age Limit

Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC and other special categories as per UP Government rules. State government employees in regular service get 5 years of upper age relaxation (as per GO No. 2-EM./2001-ka-4-2013, dated 27 August 2013).

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens.

PET-2025 Requirement

Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025) and have been issued a score card by UPSSSC are eligible to apply. Candidates must log in using their PET-2025 registration number.

Examination Structure - Main Written Exam

Selection is based on a written (main) examination. There will be one question paper of 100 questions for 100 marks, to be attempted in 2 hours (120 minutes). All questions are objective-type multiple choice.

Negative Marking: 1/4 marks (25% of the marks for that question) will be deducted for each wrong answer.

• Crop Science: Classification of crops, major crops of UP, post-harvest management, fruit and vegetable preservation, crop rotation, seed importance and production, crop protection, pest management, produce storage.
• Biotechnology and Plant Breeding: Genetics, plant breeding principles, photosynthesis, respiration, evaporation, plant anatomy and metabolism.
• Soil and Water Conservation: Soil properties, soil formation, soil erosion, nutrients, fertilizer classification, integrated nutrient management, watershed management, irrigation methods, drainage, pollution and environmental protection.
• Agriculture Extension: Extension principles, rural development, extension methodologies, training objectives, government schemes for farmers.
• Agriculture Economics and Schemes: Role of agriculture in UP economy, economic reforms, MSP, agricultural marketing, agricultural statistics.
• Dairy and Animal Husbandry: Domestic animal breeds, animal breeding, milk production, poultry, fish farming, apiculture, sericulture, major animal diseases.

Part-3 - UP General Knowledge: History, culture, art, architecture, festivals, folk dance, literature, regional languages, heritage, social customs, tourism, geographical landscape, environment, natural resources, climate, soil, forest, wildlife, mines and minerals, economy, agriculture, industry, business, employment, polity, administration of UP, and current events.

Selection Process

1. PET-2025 Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for the Main Exam based on their normalised PET-2025 score. Up to 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted, up to the cut-off marks (rounded to 2 decimal places).
2. Main Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates appear in the written examination as described above.
3. Merit List: Final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the written main examination.
4. Document Verification: Selected candidates will need to present original documents and certificates for verification.

Note: Candidates with zero or negative marks in PET-2025 absolute or normalised score will not be shortlisted for the main exam.

2. On the homepage, go to 'Live Advertisement Segment' and click on the advertisement for Ganna Paryavekshak Main Exam (Advt. No. 13-Pariksha/2026).
3. Login using your PET-2025 registration number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email.
4. Verify your pre-filled personal details from PET-2025 and fill in the required educational qualification and other mandatory details.
5. Select your preferred post options and fill in any other required details in the application form.
6. Pay the application fee of Rs. 25 via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or SBI e-challan before 28 July 2026.
7. After successful fee payment, your application will be automatically submitted. Download and print the application form for your records.

Important: Only one application per candidate. If multiple applications are submitted, only the last submitted one will be accepted. The application can only be modified (address, personal info, marital status) up to 04 August 2026. After this date, no amendment is possible.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• All reserved category candidates of UP must mention their category clearly in the application.
• Candidates who are not permanent residents of UP will not get reservation benefits.
• Ex-Servicemen who are retiring by 28 July 2026 are also eligible as per applicable rules.
• Outstanding sportspersons must submit a certificate issued by the competent authority on the prescribed format.
• Female candidates from UP must submit caste certificate from the father's side only.
• EWS candidates must hold a valid EWS certificate based on financial year 2025-26 income (valid for 2026-27).
• Date of birth from Class 10 (High School) certificate only will be accepted. No other document for age proof is valid.
• Candidates serving in Central or State Government must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
