Other Eligibility Conditions
- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Male candidates are not eligible for Girls school posts (except blind candidates for Music subject).
- Female candidates can apply for both Boys and Girls school categories, but only one category per subject per application.
- Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
- A male candidate having more than one living wife, or a female candidate married to a man with a living wife, is not eligible.
- Candidates in Central or State government service must obtain NOC from their employer (not required at application stage, but must be produced if asked).
Reservation Details
- Reservation benefit is available only for UP residents.
- EWS: 10% horizontal reservation for economically weaker section.
- Ex-Serviceman: 5% horizontal reservation.
- PwD (Divyang): 4% horizontal reservation (1% each for VH, HH, OH/Locomotor, and multiple disabilities/autism/intellectual disability).
- Freedom Fighter Dependants: 2% horizontal reservation.
- Candidates from outside UP in reserved categories will be treated as General category.

Selection Process
Selection for UP TGT 2022 is done only through a written examination. There is no interview stage.
- After the written exam, a consolidated merit panel list will be prepared.
- Panel strength will exceed vacancies by up to 25% as per UP Secondary Education Service Selection Board Rules 1998, Rule 12(8).
- Selected candidates will be assigned schools (institution allotment) as per Rule 12(10) of the same rules.
- The list/panel with school names will be forwarded to District School Inspectors.

Important Rules to Remember
- One application per subject is accepted; multiple applications for different subjects are allowed.
