Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed the High School (Class 10) examination from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any equivalent board recognized by the Government.
  • In addition, candidates must possess one of the following technical qualifications:
    • Certificate of Tubewell Mechanic course from a Government Polytechnic Centre or Government Industrial Training Centre, Lal Diggi Park, Gorakhpur — OR equivalent certificate recognized by the Government.
    • OR, a minimum 2-year course certificate in any of the following trades from a Directorate of Employment and Training, Uttar Pradesh, or a recognized Industrial Training Institute: (i) Machine Mistry (Machinist), (ii) Fitter, (iii) Wireman, (iv) Turner.
    • OR, a 3-year National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India, in the above-mentioned trades.
  • Note: The certificate issued by the Government Industrial Training Centre, B.K.T., Lucknow for the Tubewell Mechanic course is also considered equivalent to the Gorakhpur certificate.

Preferential Qualification (Adhimani Arhata)

  • Candidates who have served in Pradeshik Seva (Regional Service) for a minimum of 2 years will be given preference.
  • Candidates who hold the 'B' Certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC) will also be given preference.

Age Limit

Age is reckoned as on 1 July of the year in which the recruitment is advertised.

Selection Process

  • Only candidates who appeared in and qualified PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025) are eligible to apply for this Main Examination.
  • Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be done on the basis of the normalized score of PET-2025 — 15 times the number of category-wise vacancies (including all candidates up to the last cut-off score at the 2nd decimal) will be shortlisted.
  • Candidates who scored zero, below zero, or negative in PET-2025 (absolute or normalized) will not be shortlisted.
  • The written examination (Main Exam) will be an Objective Type MCQ paper with 100 questions, total 100 marks, and a time duration of 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • Each question carries 1 mark. Negative marking of 1/4 mark applies for each wrong answer.
  • Final merit list will be prepared based on the Main Examination score. In case of a tie, date of birth and percentage of marks in required qualification will be used as tiebreakers.
