UKSSSC has advertised a total of 200 Scaler posts under Uttarakhand Van Vikas Nigam. Category-wise, the break-up of the 200 posts is as follows:

Within these 200 posts, horizontal reservation is also applicable as follows: 60 posts for women of Uttarakhand, 4 posts for ex-servicemen, 10 posts for dependents of freedom fighters, 8 posts for divyang (persons with disabilities) candidates, 10 posts for orphans, 8 posts for skilled sportspersons, and 20 posts for identified agitators of the Uttarakhand state movement or their dependents. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A candidate must have passed the Intermediate examination or an equivalent examination, with Science or Mathematics as a subject, from a board or council established by law in India, or from a school recognised by the state of Uttarakhand.

Preferential Qualification

Other things being equal, preference in direct recruitment will be given to candidates who have served for a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army, or who hold a "B" or "C" certificate from the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Age Limit

The age of a candidate is reckoned as on 1 July 2026. Candidates must not be below the minimum age and must not exceed the maximum age on this date, meaning candidates must be born between 2 July 1998 and 1 July 2008.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the Scaler post will receive a pay scale of Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200 (Level-02). The post is non-gazetted and temporary in nature, and it is covered under the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the following minimum height and chest measurement requirements:

Relaxed height standards apply to candidates belonging to Gorkha, Nepali, Assamese, Ladakhi, Sikkimese, Bhutia, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Naga, Arunachal Pradesh, Lahaul and Spiti, and Meghalaya communities: 152 cm for male candidates and 145 cm for female candidates.

No candidate will be appointed if their vision defect in either eye is more than plus or minus 4.00 diopters.

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates who meet the physical eligibility standards must also qualify the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which consists of a qualifying race followed by three field events. Only candidates who clear the race are permitted to attempt the shot put, long jump, and high jump, and candidates get a maximum of three attempts to meet the qualifying standard in each of these three events.

Selection Process

Selection for the Scaler post is completed in two stages:

• Stage 1: A qualifying physical eligibility test and physical efficiency test. Candidates declared successful move to the next stage.
• Stage 2: A written competitive examination for candidates who qualify Stage 1. The date of the written exam will be announced separately on the commission's website and through press notices.

Written Exam Pattern

The written examination will be an objective-type, multiple-choice paper carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours in offline mode. Questions will relate to the educational qualification prescribed for the post. The detailed syllabus is published separately on the UKSSSC website.

• Each question carries four answer options, and candidates must choose the best answer.
• A wrong answer attracts a negative mark equal to one-fourth of the marks fixed for that question.
• Unattempted questions carry no negative marking.
• Minimum qualifying marks are 45 percent for unreserved, EWS, and OBC candidates, and 35 percent for SC and ST candidates.

The fee can be paid only through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. Applications submitted without payment of the required fee by the last date will be treated as automatically rejected.
