SSC CGL 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India, subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification (as on 01 August 2026)
- Most Posts: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor's Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level, OR Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as a subject at degree level.
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Demography, Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
- Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer: Bachelor's Degree (Desirable: CA, CMA, CS, M.Com, MBA Finance, MBE).
Note: Final year graduation students can apply but must possess the qualification by 01.08.2026.

SSC CGL 2026 Selection Process
Selection for SSC CGL 2026 is done through a two-tier Computer Based Examination followed by Document Verification:
- Tier-I: Objective Type CBE (qualifying + merit based)
- Tier-II: Objective Type CBE - Paper-I (all candidates), Paper-II (for JSO/Statistical Investigator), Paper-III (for AAO/AAO)
- Document Verification: Conducted by User Departments after declaration of final result
The final merit list is based on marks scored in both Tier-I and Tier-II. Normalized scores will be used if examinations are conducted in multiple shifts.

Tier-I Syllabus
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, coding-decoding, number series, venn diagrams, embedded figures, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, syllogistic reasoning, space orientation, visual memory.

How to Apply for SSC CGL 2026 Online
- Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in on your computer or mobile browser.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if you have not registered before. Note that the old website OTR is not valid for the new portal.
- Log in using your OTR credentials and click on the SSC CGL 2026 application link.
- Fill in all required personal details, educational qualification, age, category, and examination centre preference accurately.
- Capture your live photograph using the application module and upload your signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB, approximately 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit card before 23 June 2026 (23:00 hours). Fee is not applicable for Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM candidates.
- Review all details carefully using the Preview option, then submit the form. Take a printout of the submitted application and keep it safe for at least 3 years.
Application Correction: A correction window is available from 29 June to 01 July 2026. Correction charges are Rs. 200 for the first modification and Rs. 500 for the second modification.
