SSC CGL 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India, subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification (as on 01 August 2026)
- Most Posts: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor's Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level, OR Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as a subject at degree level.
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Demography, Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
- Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer: Bachelor's Degree (Desirable: CA, CMA, CS, M.Com, MBA Finance, MBE).

SSC CGL 2026 Selection Process
Selection for SSC CGL 2026 is done through a two-tier Computer Based Examination followed by Document Verification:
- Tier-I: Objective Type CBE (qualifying + merit based)
- Tier-II: Objective Type CBE - Paper-I (all candidates), Paper-II (for JSO/Statistical Investigator), Paper-III (for AAO/AAO)
- Document Verification: Conducted by User Departments after declaration of final result

How to Apply for SSC CGL 2026 Online
- Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in on your computer or mobile browser.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if you have not registered before. Note that the old website OTR is not valid for the new portal.
- Log in using your OTR credentials and click on the SSC CGL 2026 application link.
- Fill in all required personal details, educational qualification, age, category, and examination centre preference accurately.
- Capture your live photograph using the application module and upload your signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB, approximately 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
