ASI (Operation Theatre Technician) (i) 12th class pass from a recognised board
(ii) Diploma Course of two years duration in Operation Theatre Technology or Technician from a recognised institute
(iii) Minimum one year working experience as Operation Theatre Technician in a minimum hundred bedded hospital/institution recognised by Central or State Government
ASI (Dental Technician) (i) 12th class pass from a recognised board
(ii) Diploma in Dental Hygienist of two years duration from a recognised institution and registered with the Dental Council of India
(iii) Minimum one year working experience in Dental Unit of a Dental Hospital or minimum hundred bedded hospital/institution recognised by Central or State Government

Note: Date of Birth as recorded in Matriculation certificate will be accepted for determining age and name. No subsequent request for change in date of birth will be considered. Candidates who have appeared in qualifying examination but results are awaited, and candidates who intend to appear in a qualifying examination in the year 2026 are also eligible to apply.

Selection Process - SSB ASI Recruitment 2026

The selection process for SSB ASI Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:

Stage I: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PST will be conducted at SSB locations. Candidates must meet minimum height and chest requirements as given in the Physical Standards table. Weight should be proportionate to height and age. Candidates failing PST will be rejected from the recruitment process.

Stage II: Written Examination (Computer Based Test)

Candidates declared qualified in PST will appear in the Computer Based Test (CBT). Exam pattern is as under:

Note: Final Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written examination only.

Stage III: Documentation, Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME)

After written examination, candidates numbering up to 3 times of the vacancies (category wise) will be shortlisted for Document Verification and Detailed Medical Examination. Candidates who pass written exam but are not in the merit list will not be called for this stage. Being declared Fit in Medical Examination does not give any legal claim for appointment. Final appointment is strictly on merit basis.

Final Selection

The final selection list will be prepared category wise on merit after completion of Review Medical Examination. In case of equal marks:

  • Candidate with higher marks in Part-II (Technical Subject) will be ranked higher.
  • If still equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
  • If date of birth is also same, priority will be given based on alphabetical order of names in English (dictionary pattern).
