Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with intention of permanent settlement, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries. Officers in Grade B (DR) - General Cadre
- Graduation in any discipline with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognised university (minimum 3 years duration after Class XII). OR
- Post-Graduation in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognised university (minimum 2 years duration after Graduation).
Officers in Grade B (DR) - DEPR Cadre
Essential:
- MA/MSc in Economics or MA/MSc in Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, International Economics (where Economics is the principal constituent - i.e., half or more of total courses must be in Economics), OR
- MA/MSc in Finance or MA/MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, International Finance, Corporate Finance, Agri Business Finance etc. (where Finance is the principal constituent).

Selection Process
Selection is through Phase-I Examination, Phase-II Examination, and Interview for all three cadres. The final merit list is based on performance in Phase-II and Interview combined.

For Paper-I and Paper-III Objective section: 30 questions for 50 marks. For Descriptive section: 6 questions asked, candidates must attempt 4 (2 of 15 marks and 2 of 10 marks). Papers are bilingual (Hindi and English) except the English paper. Candidates must appear in ALL papers in ALL shifts.
Interview
Candidates shortlisted based on Phase-II aggregate marks will be called for Interview of 75 marks. A Personality Assessment (no marks, not part of final selection) will also be conducted by the Bank before the interview. Final selection is based on Phase-II marks + Interview marks + grace marks as per extant rules.

Important Points for Applying:

Examination Centres
Phase-I exam for Grade B General cadre will be conducted across a large number of centres in all States/UTs including Patna, Lucknow, Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Guwahati, Jaipur, and many more cities. Phase-II centres are fewer - about 30+ selected cities. DEPR/DSIM Phase-I and Phase-II centres are the same as Phase-II centres for General cadre.
Candidates can select up to four preferred exam centres for Phase-I and Phase-II separately in the online application. However, the Board reserves the right to allot any centre. No request for change of centre will be entertained once allotted.
