Railway RRC NWR Apprentice Online Form 2026 for 2008 Training Slots
The Railway RRC NWR Apprentice Online Form 2026 is set to open on 07.10.2026 for ITI-qualified candidates who want apprenticeship training with North Western Railway. Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Jaipur has issued Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA), dated 30.09.2026, to engage Act Apprentices for the year 2026-27 against 2008 training slots spread over eight divisions and units. There is no exam in this process: a candidate is ranked on marks already earned in Class 10 and ITI, which makes the choice of trade and unit the most important decision on the form.

What Sets This Notification Apart
Three conditions in the notice shape how this recruitment works, and they are easy to miss on a quick read.
- It is a centralized notification for all North Western Railway units, with RRC Jaipur acting only as the nodal agency that collects applications and prepares the merit list. The merit list is then passed on to the respective divisions and units, and no centralized merit list will be formed.
- You can choose only one unit. Once the form is finally submitted, no change is allowed, and a second application leads to rejection of all applications.
- This is apprenticeship training, not a regular appointment. Training in the Railway does not give any right to absorption afterwards.

Category-Wise Distribution
Adding up the unit tables, the 2008 slots are spread across categories as follows.
| Category | Slots |
|---|---|
| UR | 845 |
| OBC | 543 |
| SC | 295 |
| ST | 143 |
| EWS | 182 |
| Total | 2008 |
PwBD and ex-servicemen seats are included in these totals and are not separate. If enough SC or ST candidates are not available, their slots may go to ST or SC candidates, and if they still remain unfilled, to others. Unfilled OBC and EWS slots can be given to the unreserved category.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have passed Class 10 or its equivalent (under the 10+2 system) with at least 50 percent aggregate marks from a recognized board, and no rounding off will be done. The candidate must also hold a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT. The qualification must be in hand on the date of submitting the application, and those still awaiting final results need not apply.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The candidate should have completed 15 years and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 06.11.2026. The upper age limit is relaxed as follows.
| Category | Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC or ST | 5 years |
| OBC | 3 years |
| PwBD | 10 years |
| Ex-servicemen | Up to 10 additional years, limited to the service rendered in the Defence Forces plus 3 years, if they have served at least 6 months at a stretch |
Ex-servicemen who have already joined government service on the civil side after availing ex-servicemen status are excluded from this relaxation. An ex-servicemen candidate selected under the reservation is placed in the category (UR, SC, ST or OBC) to which he belongs.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee (Non-Refundable) |
|---|---|
| All candidates except those listed below | Rs. 100 |
| SC, ST, PwBD and women | Nil |
The fee is paid online by debit card, credit card or net banking after the application is complete on the RRC Jaipur website. Any transaction charges are borne by the candidate. If money is deducted but the application cannot be downloaded, the notification asks candidates to click the Verify Payment button to reconfirm with the payment gateway. A candidate should print and keep the e-receipt generated after a successful payment.
How Selection Works
Selection is purely on merit, using the marks of everyone who applies against this notification.
- The merit list is based on the percentage of marks in Class 10 (minimum 50 percent aggregate) together with the ITI marks in the trade in which the apprenticeship is to be done. The panel follows the simple average of the Class 10 and ITI marks.
- For Class 10, marks in all subjects are counted, not marks of any one subject or group of subjects. For ITI, the marks printed on the provisional or final certificate are counted.
- If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate is preferred. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Class 10 earlier is considered first.
- The final merit list is prepared division or unit wise, trade wise and community wise, equal to the number of slots, in descending order of percentage.
- Based on merit, trade and vacancy, document verification and medical examination are held in the opted division or unit.
Pick Your Unit With Care
Because every unit prepares its own list, a unit with no slot for your ITI trade makes the application meaningless, as no edits are allowed after final submission. Check the unit tables first, and then choose the division or unit where your trade is actually required.
Reservation, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD Candidates
Candidates who want the benefit of reservation must bring the following at document verification.
- SC or ST: Caste certificate in the Central Government format (Annexure-I).
- OBC: Caste certificate and Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued on or after 1/4/2026 in the Central Government format (Annexure-II), along with the OBC declaration (Annexure-IIA).
- EWS: EWS certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-III).
- Ex-servicemen and Armed Forces personnel: Discharge certificate, or for their children, the discharge certificate or serving certificate of the parent.
- PwBD: Disability certificate from a competent authority, such as a Medical Board set up by the Central or State Government, in the format of Annexure-V(A), V(B), V(C) or V(D).
Under the ex-servicemen reservation, the notification lists children of deceased or disabled ex-servicemen, children of ex-servicemen, children of serving jawans, children of serving officers and ex-servicemen themselves.
For PwBD candidates, locomotor disability or cerebral palsy must be at least 40 percent, and hearing impairment means a loss of 60 decibels or more in the better ear. The notification lists trade-wise disability requirements, and for visual impairment it names Mechanic (Diesel) and Fitter. PwBD candidates outside the listed categories should not apply as PwBD.

Points to Get Right on the Form
- Name, father's name and date of birth must match the Class 10 or equivalent certificate exactly. Any mismatch found at document verification leads to cancellation of candidature and debarment.
- Candidates should keep their mobile number and e-mail ID active throughout the process, because important messages sent by e-mail or SMS are treated as read.
- A Registration Number is issued on submission and should be saved for later correspondence with RRC.
- Do not post printouts or certificates to RRC. Candidature is considered only on the information given in the online application.
Medical Fitness, Training and Stipend
Candidates must produce a medical certificate in the Annexure-IV format, signed by a Government authorised doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of a Central or State Hospital. The format sets standards for eyes, ears, skin, heart, lungs and other body systems, and it lists seventeen trades where vision in one eye is not enough. Before training starts, the selected candidate, or the guardian if the candidate is a minor, signs a Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer.
The training period and stipend will follow the rules and directives of the Railway Board from time to time, and the notification does not state a stipend amount. No hostel accommodation is provided, and no travelling or daily allowance is paid for attending document verification. After selection, a request to change the division, unit or trade will not be considered.
Rules That Can Cancel a Candidature
- Submitting different details across multiple applications, such as name, community, photograph or contact details.
- Failing to produce the original certificates at verification, or any other discrepancy noticed.
- Furnishing wrong or fake certificates, which can lead to discharge at any stage even after selection.
- Canvassing in any form.
- Being found ineligible at any stage, in which case an erroneously engaged candidate can be dismissed without notice.
The decision of the Railway administration on eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications and mode of selection is final. The administration does not accept responsibility for printing errors or for replying to candidates who are not selected or called.
