Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Law (LLB – Professional Degree) from a recognized university or institution, OR must be Barristers of England or Ireland, OR members of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
- Candidates must be eligible for enrollment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of practice experience at the Bar.
- As per Punjab Civil Services Rules, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language exam recognized by the Government.
- All required educational qualifications must be completed on or before the last date of application (20 May 2026).

Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Selection Process
- Candidates will be selected through an Objective Type Written Examination (Multiple Choice Questions – MCQ).
- Each question carries 1 mark. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
- Merit List will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination.
- In case of tie in merit, date of birth (older candidate preferred), percentage in required qualification, and Matriculation marks will be used as tiebreakers in that order.
- Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be called for Document Verification / Counseling.
- Final recommendation to the department will be made only after successful verification of all documents and eligibility.
- Roll Numbers, syllabus, exam date, Admit Card, and other exam-related details will be uploaded on the official website from time to time.
