Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Law (LLB – Professional Degree) from a recognized university or institution, OR must be Barristers of England or Ireland, OR members of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
• Candidates must be eligible for enrollment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of practice experience at the Bar.
• As per Punjab Civil Services Rules, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language exam recognized by the Government.
• All required educational qualifications must be completed on or before the last date of application (20 May 2026).

Selection Process

• Candidates will be selected through an Objective Type Written Examination (Multiple Choice Questions – MCQ).
• Each question carries 1 mark. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
• Merit List will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination.
• In case of tie in merit, date of birth (older candidate preferred), percentage in required qualification, and Matriculation marks will be used as tiebreakers in that order.
• Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be called for Document Verification / Counseling.
• Final recommendation to the department will be made only after successful verification of all documents and eligibility.
• Roll Numbers, syllabus, exam date, Admit Card, and other exam-related details will be uploaded on the official website from time to time.

How to Apply for PSSSB Assistant District Attorney 2026

1. Visit the official PSSSB website at sssb.punjab.gov.in and click on the "Apply Online" link.
2. If you are a new user, click on "Registration" and fill in your personal details to generate your User ID (Email ID) and Password. Save your credentials for future use.
3. Login using your registered Email ID and Password, then proceed to fill the Online Application Form with accurate personal, educational, and category details.
4. Upload a passport-size photograph (or capture a live photo via camera) and a scanned copy of your signature. Applications without a photo or signature will be rejected.
5. Click on "Attach Annexure" and upload scanned copies of your 10th certificate, educational qualification certificates, and all other required documents in PDF format as specified on the portal.
6. Click "Save Documents" and then proceed to "Make Payment" to pay the application fee online. No other mode of payment is accepted.
7. After successful payment, click "Submit" to complete your application. Take a printout of the submitted Application Form and keep it safe for future reference.
