  • PGT (General Subjects): Master's Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university, plus B.Ed. with at least 50% marks from an NCTE recognized institution. OR an Integrated PG Course from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks including B.Ed. component.
  • PGT (Computer Science): M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT) / MCA / M.E. / M.Tech. (Computer Science/IT) with at least 50% marks, plus B.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
  • PGT (Physical Education): Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) Degree from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
  • PGT (Modern Indian Language – Assamese & Manipuri): Integrated PG course or Master's Degree in the concerned Modern Indian Language with at least 50% marks, plus B.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution.
  • TGT (General Subjects): Four-year integrated degree or Bachelor's/Honours Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in concerned subjects, plus B.Ed. with at least 50% marks from an NCTE recognized institution. Must be qualified in CTET Paper-II conducted by CBSE.

  • Female Staff Nurse: B.Sc. (Hons.) / Regular B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university. Registered as Nurse or Nurse Mid-wife (RN or RM) with any State Nursing Council. Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital.
  • Counselor: Master's Degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology from a recognized university, plus One Year Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. At least one year experience in Guidance and Counseling in educational institutes of Central/State/UT Government or Public Sector Undertaking.
  • Hostel Superintendent: Graduation in any discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in pay level 5 or above (7th CPC) in any recognized residential school. OR 7 years of experience on consolidated pay not less than Rs. 29,200/- per month in a recognized residential school. OR Ex-Defence personnel with minimum 5 years in pay level 5 or above of 7th CPC.

How to Apply for NVS Shillong Recruitment 2026

  1. Download the Registration Form (Annexure-A) from the official notification PDF available on the NVS Shillong regional website.
  2. Fill in all required details in the registration form including personal information, educational qualifications, and work experience. Affix a self-attested recent passport-size photograph.
  3. Send the filled registration form via email to the concerned Venue Principal / Coordinator of the designated JNV for the subject you are applying for. The email must be sent between 13 April 2026 and 28 April 2026. No supporting documents are required at this stage.
  4. The Venue Principal will review the received forms and schedule the walk-in interview date (between 06 May 2026 and 09 May 2026) and notify candidates via their registered email by 01 May 2026.
  5. On the day of the walk-in interview, bring original certificates, mark sheets, a set of self-attested photocopies, experience certificates (in the prescribed format), one recent passport-size photograph, and a valid ID proof such as Voter ID or Aadhaar Card.
