Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology (B.E. / B.Tech)
  • OR DOEACC B-Level / Associate Member of Institute of Engineers / GIETE
  • OR Master's Degree in Science (MSc) / MCA / ME / M.Tech / MPhil
  • Fields accepted (single or in combination): Physics, Applied Physics, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation, Cyber Security, Bioinformatics, GIS, and more as listed in the official notification PDF.

Minimum Experience

  • Scientist-C: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in research or development in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organizations after completing the essential qualification.
  • Scientist-D: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the same areas as above after completing the essential qualification.
  • Relaxation: Candidates with M.Tech / ME / MPhil get 2 years relaxation in experience requirement.
  • Desirable: Doctorate (PhD) in Science, Engineering, or ICT for both posts.

Age Limit

How to Apply for NIC Scientist C and D Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official NIC recruitment portal at recruitment.nic.in.
  2. Click on the relevant advertisement link for Scientist-C or Scientist-D (Advt. No. NIC/SC-C&D/2026/3) and complete the registration process by providing your valid email ID and active mobile number.
  3. Log in using your application number and password, then fill in the online application form with all required details including personal information, educational qualifications, and work experience.
  4.
