Who Is Eligible: The Para Teacher Condition

Before looking at qualifications, check the service condition. The brochure states that every post under this advertisement is reserved for Assistant Teachers (Para Teachers) serving under the Jharkhand Education Project Council, Ranchi. A candidate must have completed at least two continuous years of service on the date the advertisement was published and must have been working on that date.

Experience and cleanliness certificates for para teachers are issued in the prescribed formats given in Appendix XV and Appendix XVI of the brochure. For Class 1 to 5 the Block Education Extension Officer issues them, and for Class 6 to 8 the Area Education Officer does.

Regular and Backlog Vacancies: What Is the Difference

The commission has issued two brochures for the same examination. Advertisement number 04/2026 is for regular vacancies. Advertisement number 05/2026 is for backlog vacancies, meaning seats reserved for certain categories that were not filled earlier. In the backlog tables every seat sits under the ST, SC, EBC-I or BC-II category, with no Unreserved or EWS seats.

Apart from the vacancy tables, the two brochures carry the same conditions. The dates in the revised notice, along with the fee, age limit, qualification, exam pattern and application steps described below, apply to both advertisements. An eligible candidate can apply against both with one application, and one common examination is held.

Important Dates

The original schedule in the brochures ran from 31 July 2026 to 30 August 2026. Important Notice 02 dated 29 September 2026 revises it, giving these reasons only as unavoidable circumstances. The table below shows the current dates.

Application Fee

• Examination fee for all candidates: Rs. 100
• Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste candidates of Jharkhand: Rs. 50

The fee is non-refundable, and an application without fee payment is not accepted. The brochure also warns that if a local Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste resident of Jharkhand pays the concessional fee for a category other than their own, the candidature can be cancelled.

Regular Vacancy Details (Advertisement 04/2026)

The 6101 regular vacancies are divided across four post groups. The table below shows the category-wise numbers exactly as printed in the brochure. Backward classes appear only where the brochure allots them; several posts have no EBC-I or BC-II seats at all.

The brochure also gives horizontal reservation figures, which cut across the categories above. These are totals for each post group.

Two rules stand out. Two percent of the vacancies for Scheduled Tribes are set aside for Primitive Tribe candidates, and if no eligible candidate is available these seats go to other Scheduled Tribe candidates. Also, five percent horizontal reservation applies for one dependent of a Jharkhand movement activist, for which a valid certificate issued at district or block level must be submitted.

Educational Qualification

The qualification is counted as on the last date for receiving applications. In addition, the candidate must have passed the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) for Class 1 to 5.

Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 6 to 8)

The subject requirement differs by post group:

• Maths and Science: a graduate degree of at least three years in Science, Engineering, Technology or Agriculture, with Maths in any one of these, and 10+2 with at least two subjects from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
• Social Science: a graduate degree of at least three years in Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Commerce or Management
• Language: a graduate or honours degree of at least three years with one notified language as a subject. The languages listed are Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bangla, Mundari, Ho, Kharia, Kurukh (Oraon), Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia and Sanskrit

Alongside the degree, the brochure accepts these training routes for the graduate posts: a graduate degree with a two-year diploma in elementary education; a graduate degree with 50 percent marks and a B.Ed., for candidates not enrolled in a graduate or equivalent training course before 29 July 2011; a graduate degree with 45 percent marks and a B.Ed. under National Council for Teacher Education rules, for those enrolled before that date; 50 percent marks in 10+2 with a four-year B.El.Ed. or a four-year B.A.Ed. or B.Sc.Ed.; a graduate degree with 50 percent marks and a B.Ed. (Special Education); or 55 percent marks in a postgraduate degree with a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Candidates must also have passed the JTET for Class 6 to 8.

JTET Rules and Marks Relaxation

• Jharkhand residents who cleared the Central TET, or a TET held by a neighbouring state, are considered on the condition that they pass JTET within three years of appointment, at the first available chance.
• The minimum marks required in educational and training qualifications are relaxed by 5 percent for SC, ST, EBC-I, BC-II and disability categories, and by 7 percent for Primitive Tribal Groups.
• A candidate is eligible for appointment only in the subject group in which they passed the eligibility test, on the basis of the state merit list.
• Results of candidates who passed JTET or another TET under a reserved category are prepared only against vacancies of that reserved category.

Age Limit

Age is counted as on 1 August 2026. The minimum age is 21 years.

Pay Scale

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection rests on one main written examination, followed by document verification. The test is objective, with multiple choice questions, and conducted through OMR or computer based mode. Wrong answers carry no negative marking. If a subject is held in more than one shift, marks are normalised using the formula published on the JSSC website, and the merit list is built from normalised marks.

Intermediate Posts (Class 1 to 5)

There are three papers, held in three shifts, at Intermediate difficulty level.

Graduate Posts (Class 6 to 8)

There are four papers, held in four shifts, at graduation level.

Paper 4 depends on your post. For Maths and Science, the paper has five sections covering Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, and a candidate answers from any three. For Social Science, it has seven sections covering History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Accountancy and Business Studies, again with any three to be answered. For Language, questions are set in one notified language and English, with half from each. A candidate must score at least 33 percent in Paper 4 before the merit list is prepared.

How the Merit List Is Prepared

• Paper 1 is only qualifying. A candidate needs at least 30 percent marks in it, and its marks are not added to the merit list.
• Candidates scoring below the minimum qualifying marks are left out of the merit list. The cut-offs are 40 percent for Unreserved and EWS, 32 percent for SC, ST and women, 34 percent for EBC-I, 36.5 percent for BC-II, and 30 percent for Primitive Tribe candidates.
• When marks are equal, the older candidate is placed higher. If the date of birth is also equal, the rules set by the state personnel department decide the order.
• A reserved-category candidate who reaches the unreserved merit level is counted against unreserved seats.

Documents You Will Need

Document checking happens after the merit list is drawn, but the details you enter in the form must match these papers. Certificates must be in the prescribed format and issued by the competent authority. The brochure states that a certificate issued after the last date for receiving applications is not valid.

How to Apply

The online form is filled in stages, and each stage depends on the last one. Follow the order below.

1. Read the full brochure of advertisement number 04/2026 or 05/2026 (or both) and confirm that you are a para teacher who meets the service, educational, training and age conditions for your chosen post.
2. Keep your matriculation certificate, caste, residence and other required certificates ready, along with a scanned photograph and a scan of your full signature.
3. Open the official JSSC Jharkhand website and click on Online Application for JTAACCE-2026 (Para Teacher), then complete your registration.
4. Note the registration number and password sent to your mobile phone and email, because you will need both to log in again.
5. Log in and fill in your details page by page, using Save and Continue on each page. Write your name and date of birth exactly as printed in your matriculation certificate.
6. On the day after you finish filling the form, log in again after 12:00 noon, click Submit To Proceed Payment, tick the terms and conditions, choose JTAACCE-2026 (Para Teacher) as the payment category, enter your registration number and pay the fee. The last date for fee payment will be announced in a separate notice.
7. One day after paying, log in again and upload the fee payment details, your scanned photograph and your full signature.
8. Submit the application and take a printout, then keep it safe for later use.

Correcting Mistakes After Submission

The commission allows corrections from 23 October 2026 to midnight of 24 October 2026 for every entry except name, date of birth, email and mobile number. If a change of category increases the fee, the difference has to be paid, and applications without it are not accepted. Once the correction date has passed, no further claim to change an entry is accepted.

If a candidate submits more than one online application, only the last one is treated as valid and the earlier ones are cancelled, with no refund of their fees.

• Candidates with 40 percent or more blindness or low vision, locomotor disability affecting both hands, or cerebral palsy get a scribe on request, plus 20 extra minutes for every hour of the exam.
