Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 28 years as on 11 July 2026 (closing date)
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC candidates
- Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Widows, Divorced Women, and Women judicially separated from husbands are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders
Educational Qualification
- For JRF-E1 to JRF-E12, JRF-M1, JRF-M2, JRF-M3: M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc (Engg.) or equivalent postgraduate degree in First Class with aggregate minimum 60% or CGPA/CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the relevant discipline.
- For JRF-E13:
- M.Sc in Mathematics/Physics in First Class with minimum aggregate 65% or CGPA 6.84 on 10-point scale, OR
- M.Tech or equivalent in Aerospace with minimum 60% or CGPA 6.5
- Rounding off of percentage or CGPA is not permitted. Enter values to the nearest 2 decimal places.
- Candidates who have pursued professional courses through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible.
- Only passed candidates are eligible. Students awaiting final results cannot apply.
- All degrees must be recognized by AICTE/UGC or any other body authorized by Government of India.
Mandatory National Level Exam Qualification (NET/NET Equivalent)
Candidates must have qualified in any one of the following:
- CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship)
- GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) conducted by MoE
- JAM (Joint Admission Test) conducted by MoE
- JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test)
- National level examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.

Selection Process
- Stage 1 - Initial Screening: Based on academic performance and parameters provided in the online application. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for interview.
- Stage 2 - Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview at Bengaluru only. Call letters are sent by e-mail only. URSC/ISRO reserves the right to change the venue/date of interview.
- Interview result is announced on the ISRO website.
- Travel reimbursement: Outstation candidates allowed for interview after successful document verification will be paid second-class sleeper rail fare (or government bus fare), whichever is less, from the address in the online application to the interview venue.
