Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• 10+2 in Science from a recognized Board of School Education.
• Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University or Institution duly recognized by Central/State Government.
• Must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of the concerned State/Central Government.
• Candidates who have done Diploma in Pharmacy prior to 12.09.2001 and are matriculates shall also be eligible.
• Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any School/Institution situated in Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years
• Age will be reckoned as on 01.01.2026.
• Upper age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (HP domicile), Persons with Disabilities (HP domicile), HP Government Employees, and Ex-servicemen of HP, as per state government instructions.
• Reserved category candidates from other states will be treated as General (UR) and will not get age or fee relaxation.

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR-based Written Screening Test of 120 marks and 1.5 hours duration.
• The test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark.
• In case of multiple shifts CBT, scores will be normalized using Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation Method).
• Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category; 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters.
• The Aayog may relax qualifying percentage by up to 5% if enough candidates do not qualify.
• Final selection is based on merit list prepared from the CBT score.
• Document verification will follow shortlisting based on merit.

How to Apply for HPRCA Pharmacist 2026

1. Visit the official HPRCA website at hprca.hp.gov.in and click on the "Sign Up" option to create a username and password.
2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) by entering personal information, educational qualifications, work experience (if any), and uploading a recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature.
3. Log in to your profile and update or verify all details. Only candidates with completed profiles can proceed to apply for posts.
4. Go to the list of available posts, find Post Code 26043 (Pharmacy Officer Allopathy – Job Trainee), and click the "Apply" button.
5. Select your preferred exam district from the dropdown menu.
6. Review the auto-filled application form carefully and confirm all details before proceeding.
7. Pay the application fee of Rs. 800/- online through Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking via the payment gateway.
8. After successful payment, your Online Recruitment Application (ORA) will be submitted and considered complete. Download and save the confirmation for future reference.

Admit Card

No Admit Card will be sent by post. Provisionally admitted candidates must download their Admit Card from the official HPRCA website at hprca.hp.gov.in. A notification will be sent to the registered mobile number or email ID. Candidates can download the Admit Card using their Application ID, Name, and Date of Birth. An OTP will be required during the download process.

Result and Merit List

The result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the CBT/Written Screening Test. In case of multiple shifts, normalization of scores will be done using the Z-Score Method. A category-wise waiting list (panel) will also be prepared. The waiting list will remain valid for one year from the date of recommendation by HPRCA to the appointing authority. The provisional answer key of CBT will be uploaded on the official website. Candidates can raise objections within seven days. A non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 per challenge is applicable.
