Educational Qualification

  • SC/TO (NE-001): Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Computer Engineering / Electronics / Electronics & Communications from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • JE – Electrical (NE-002): Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • JE – Electronics (NE-003): Diploma in Electronics / Electronics & Communications Engineering from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • Maintainer – Fitter (NE-004): SSLC pass with ITI (Two Years) in Fitter from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • Maintainer – Electrical (NE-005): SSLC pass with ITI (Two Years) in Electrician from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • Maintainer – Electronics (NE-006): SSLC pass with ITI (Two Years) in Electronics from a Government Recognized University or Institute.
  • Candidates holding a degree in the specified discipline are also eligible where Diploma is required. However, Diploma/Degree will not substitute ITI where ITI is the essential qualification.
  • Final year students of Diploma / Degree / ITI can also apply. They must produce the Original Marksheet at the time of document verification.

After successful completion of the 2-year training cum probation period, candidates will be appointed on a contractual basis for 5 years at IDA pay scales as applicable.

Selection Process

  • For SC/TO: Written Test → Psycho Aptitude Test → Document Verification → Medical Examination (Aye-One A-1 category)
  • For Junior Engineers: Written Test → Document Verification → Medical Examination (Aye-One A-1, not below Aye-Three A-3)
  • For Maintainers: Written Test → Document Verification → Medical Examination (Bee-One B-1 category)

  • All questions carry 1 mark each. Exam duration: 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer or unattempted question. Marking Option E will not attract negative marking.
  • Gujarati language test is qualifying in nature. Minimum 60% for General category and 50% for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS. Marks in Gujarati will not be counted in the cutoff score.
  • Question paper will be in English. Test will be OMR-based.

Medical Standards

  • SC/TO: Aye-One (A-1) category — requires highest standard of medical fitness including naked vision of 6/6.
  • Junior Engineers: Aye-One (A-1) category, not below Aye-Three (A-3).
  • Maintainers: Bee-One (B-1) category.
  • Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery are not suitable for any posts.
  • The cost of the first medical examination will be borne by GMRCL. Second examination expense will be borne by the candidate.
  • Candidates found medically unfit will not be considered for any position in GMRCL.

Surety Bond

  • Selected candidates must execute a surety bond to serve GMRCL for a minimum period of 3 years.
  • SC/TO and Junior Engineers: Surety bond of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
  • Maintainers: Surety bond of Rs. 1,25,000/-.
  • A 3-month prior notice or leave salary in lieu of short notice is required before resignation.
